About this listen

Brooks - I’ve been coming to this little café every weekday for the past month, and everyday the same guy, Noah, takes my order. He always flirts with me, talks to me, and makes me feel like a million bucks. The problem? He’s in his mid-twenties, which is a baby compared to my 45 years. The first time he winked at and flirted with me, I thought he was making fun of me. I may have cussed him out. Okay, I did. But just a little. But, to my surprise, he just laughed and told me I was cute when I was grumpy. I should have run away and never came back to this place. But I can’t stay away. As if the age gap between us isn’t reason enough to keep my distance, we are also complete opposites.

Noah is young and free-spirited, kind and funny. I’m an asshole. Our looks couldn’t be more different either. Noah is tall and thin with dirty-blond hair and blue eyes. He smiles so big his cheeks dimple up, and he lights up the room. And then there’s me. I’m gray-haired, gray-eyed, thickset, and I have crows feet and a bad back. When Noah basically forces me into a date, he flips my entire world upside down. But things can’t be that easy; I’ve got secrets, physical and emotional pain, and enough baggage to fill an airplane. I’ve got to keep my distance because this could never work. Noah - I’m becoming obsessed with a hunky older man. For a month now I’ve been flirting and dropping hints that I like him. Though we talk often, he always shrugs off my advances.

With his sexy gray hair and eyes and his cranky attitude, he’s like my own personal little storm cloud. Sure he’s grumpy, but I don’t miss the way his lips twitch when I tease him, or his eyes sparkle when I tell him he’s handsome. Each day I pull a little bit of information out about himself, but I’m hungry for more. I know there’s a big, beautiful personality behind his tough exterior, and I want to be the one who releases it.

*This M/M May-December romance is insta-love and low angst.

Cute Story – Amazing Narration

I listened to the audiobook version of this book, and just wow: Nick Hudson’s narration is incredible – an easy five stars out of five. Nick’s narration is smooth and he incorporates enough energy and emotional depth into his vocal performance to make the book feel dynamic but not over-the-top. But what really makes this audiobook so fantastic is the original music at the end. Jayda Marx wrote the song lyrics, and Nick Hudson plays the guitar and sings the song bringing it to life and just blowing me away. Nick’s voice is truly beautiful and I loved his singing. I really hope he does more narrations where he gets to bring out his musical talent.

The book was a sweet and adorable contemporary romance leaning heavy on the age-gap trope and the grumpy/sunshine trope. There is very low angst, but just enough to cause some drama and lead to a cute groveling/make-up scene between the two main characters. There was humor, fluff, and of course, some super hot and steamy intimate moments that sizzled on the page. Overall, this was a fun book with a spectacular narration.

Sunshine/Winter romance

Sunshine/Winter romance

What's not to love? We have Grumpy older vs Sunshine younger, two men with nothing in common, an age gap, beautifully written and an incredible song and narration.

This is the first audio I've listened to by Jayda Marx, and I'm so impressed. The characters have depth and a story behind them. They are entirely different. Well rounded and fun in most parts.
We have a grumpy bear (Brooks) who feels he's too old for the young sunshine (Noah) waiter at a local café, but Noah has a feeling about this grumpy old bear and perseveres until he breaks that hard shell. There is a misunderstanding, and things get dramatic, but we get this fantastic song, sung by Nick Hudson. What a wonderfully unexpected addition to the narration.

Well narrated, clean and clear. Nick Hudson was a joy to listen to. I sped up to 1.50 on Audible, which is typical for me.

Great Audio

I love the book anyway so was excited to listen to the characters come to life on audio. Never heard of the narrator before but I enjoyed his take on Noah and brooks and the song at the end was a beautiful touch. Really easy listen.

An Adorably Sweet & Spicy🔥Romance! Fabulous Listen

I enjoyed this book immensely, it is a sweet and fabulously entertaining story, one that puts a smile on your face and keeps it there the entire time. The characters are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with, they are easy to like too, especially Noah, I just adored him and his bubbly attitude, the complete opposite of Brooks, Mr. Cranky. It was great watching these two get to know each other and learn more about them. Noah prefers older men, he is a waiter and has been attracted to one of his repeat customers. He finally worked up the courage to make a move, he was not expecting to be rudely pushed away. Brooks was wondering what a young hottie wants to do with him, he was not good for him and deserved much better. But Noah did not see it that way and was disappointed with the rejection. After some thought and realizing the errors of his way, Brooks approaches Noah and apologizes and asks him if he is still interested. I loved these two together, the chemistry between them was smoking hot and as their relationship grows it turns into a wonderful opposites attract, age gap romance. I loved how everything played out in this book; it is a beautifully plotted story that contains drama, relationship and family, witty humor, heartfelt emotions and a steamy romance. Loved the storyline with Brooks’ son, it is a heartstring grabber, one of several in the book. Jayda Marx, thank you for this great story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Nick Hudson is a talented narrator and voice artist. He had a complete understanding of the characters he portrayed, gave each a voice that suited that character’s persona to a tee, he was believable in each role he played and sounded just as I pictured them to sound. You could hear how much heart he put into his work as he captured the characters’ emotions and projected them into his performance. He set the perfect tone for the story, handled the witty dialogue with ease and landed the humor effortlessly, never missing a beat. That great song and your singing were amazing and a fantastic bonus. Thank you for this fabulously entertaining listen!

Thank you #GRR

Fun May December Story

This is a sweet May/December romance. Noah is attracted to Brooks but Brooks feels he is too old and not attractive enough for Noah. How this relationship develops and how Noah convinces Brooks to see things his way is entertaining. The narration by Nick Hudson really made these characters feel real. I really enjoyed his singing and songwriting. That part added immensely to the warm moments of the story.

Wonderful!

This book is beautiful! It is a slow-burn romance with an age gap, many heartwarming moments, little to no angst and perfect steamy scenes. Brooks and Noah have a lot of of chemistry together and it was a delight witnessing how they found each other and how their differences and struggles helped them to grow and be able to accept they deserved happiness. Now, Mr Hudson made a wonderful job, and his smooth voice was perfect to bring all the characters alive. An amazing narration that made this great book even more enjoyable. Loved it!

Nice listen, but Brooks went a little OTT dramatic

I really liked this listen overall, especially Nick Hudson singing at the end. Brooks' lack of faith or trust in Noah near the end was a bit OTT, and it really pissed me off. Noah had been nothing but good and kind to him, and Brooks' response was completely uncalled for and unmerited. He's lucky Noah was a forgiving sort. I understand the author wanted some drama, but there must have been another way to accomplish it. That whole encounter would have put a big wrench in the relationship for me. Love and trust needs to go both ways!

Great narration by Nick Hudson and lovely singing.

Brooks and sweet Noah

Noah caters to Brooks broody character at the restaurant where he is a regular. Noah is flirty but Brooke who is way older can’t believe he is worth his attention. I enjoyed their banter, their growth as a couple and at some point wanted to slap Brooke silly. But they make it work. I hope Jay finds his one in a future book. Lovely May December romance with a surprise from the narrator at the end.
