Summary

Vampire bachelor Samson can't get it up anymore. Not even his shrink can help him. That changes when the lovely mortal auditor Delilah tumbles into his arms after a seemingly random attack. Suddenly there's nothing wrong with his hydraulics - that is, as long as Delilah is the woman in his arms.

His scruples about taking Delilah to bed vanish when his shrink suggests it's the only way to cure his problem. Thinking all he needs is one night with her, Samson indulges in a night of pleasure and passion.

However, another attack on Delilah and a dead body later, and Samson has his hands full: not only with trying to hide the fact he's a vampire, but also with finding out what secrets Delilah harbors for somebody to want her harm.

Brilliant!!!

If you like vampire books this is excellent! I read this book first and then decided to have the audio version. It was excellent a true vampire loves human love story. I thought Samson was my ideal male love story character! The book was full of action and steamy bedroom scenes! If you enjoy a bit of the erotic mixed with vampire action then this book is for you! I thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to the next book in the series in audio form! I would recommend to anyone who is a vampire fan!

big fan of the series

What made the experience of listening to Samson's Lovely Mortal the most enjoyable?

This was first time id heard an erotic/romantic audio book performed by a man. In samsons role it was fantastic hearing the male role read by a male with a terrific reading masculine voice.

What did you like best about this story?

I simply love this story. I adore samson..he's a beautiful character.

What three words best describe Kevin Foley’s voice?

In the male role of Samson Mr Foley is ...beautifully... spot... on.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

no...I was trying to make it last a couple of days to recapture the enjoyment when I first read it .

Any additional comments?

While Mr Foley excelled voicing Samson, I didn't like hearing a man hitch his voice to speak for Delilia. For me it just didn't work hence four stars not five. However it wouldn't stop me listening to other books voiced by him and wouldnt stop me recommending this audio version to others.

Ok listen

The story has a very good base and could make for a much better story.
Performance is disappointing. Male voice throughout and his female version is not great.

Porn without plot

Samson and Delilah spend three days having sex. They take an hour out to find out who has been embezzling from Samson's company. The big "I'm a vampire" reveal doesn't go well, cue 1 of our star crossed lovers getting hurt only to be saved by the other. Now instead of having sex they 'make love' and live happily ever after. I bought this as I'd seen it compared to JR Ward. All I can say is not in my universe! In summary, there was nothing new or interesting in this book and I won't be buying any of the others in the series.

Fantastical adventure

A fantastic adventure/ horror with love intrigue and monsters. Folsom weaves a plot with so many twists and turns each page is a treasure trove, her characters are essentially indearing with a few love to hate types.
Sampson and Delila are as there names suggest destained but will they get through all those who want to stop them you need to read and find out.
The narration is good and soothing but the odd strange accent throws you at times.
My verdict worth every penny

Sleep inducing monotone voice

What did you like best about Samson's Lovely Mortal? What did you like least?

I bought this to listen to on a trip. The narrator's voice was almost monotone, and I constantly struggled to engage with this book, and admit that I did fall asleep several times, whilst listening to it. The story was nothing special, and I was disappointed, as it has so many good reviews. I am going to return it.

Would you recommend Samson's Lovely Mortal to your friends? Why or why not?

I wouldn't recommend it, sorry.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

His almost monotone narration, made it very hard to engage with the story.
