Alexandra Wilson is a musicologist and cultural historian, with particular interests in Italian opera, 20th-century operatic culture, and the cultural history of turn-of-the-century Italy and interwar Britain. She is currently Professor of Music and Cultural History at Oxford Brookes University, where she co-directs the OBERTO opera research unit. Alexandra has presented numerous broadcasts for BBC radio, written programme essays and given educational talks for all the UK's major opera companies, and comments extensively on cultural matters in the media.
