Summary

　露子さんは継子で、いつもお母さんからいじめられて泣いてばかりいました。露子さんは尋常の四年生でしたが、今年から女学校にはいりたいと思って、思い切ってお父さまやお母様に願って見たのですが、お母様がお聞きになりません。けれども露子さんは、女学校に這入りたくてはいりたくてたまりませんでした。床に就いてから涙がとめどなく出て寝られませんでした。

　そのうちに近所が静かになると、露子さんは不図妙な音に気がつきました。雨戸の真中あたりと思う処から、「キキリココリ。ククリキキリ。フフリチチリ。リリリツツリ」と小さな音が面白く調子よく聞こえて来ます。見ると、その雨戸のさんの上に小さい小さい虫が一匹、洋服を着て眼鏡を掛けて、揺れ椅子に腰をかけて書物を読んでいます。今の音は虫が揺れ椅子をゆする音でした。

「あなたが毎日お母様の云い付けをよく聞いて働いておいでになる事は、私はよく存じています。キキリキキリ、チチリチチリチチリチチリ、あなたは最前から寝床の中で泣いておいでになったようですが、何かお困りになったような事はありませぬか」

日本の小説家、SF作家、探偵小説家、幻想文学作家。1889年（明治22年）1月4日-1936年（昭和11年）3月11日。他の筆名に海若藍平、香倶土三鳥など。現在では、夢久、夢Qなどと呼ばれることもある。福岡県福岡市出身。日本探偵小説三大奇書の一つに数えられる畢生の奇書『ドグラ・マグラ』をはじめ、怪奇色と幻想性の色濃い作風で名高い。またホラー的な作品もある。
