インドネシア語のつづりはとても単純です。ほとんどローマ字読みに近く、いくつか 独特な音の発音さえ覚えてしまえば、あとは、規則通りに発音し、発音通りに書けばいいのです。でも、カタカナで覚えて発音しても通じません。音声を聞きながら、どんどんネイティブの発音をまねてリズムよく発音して、舌を慣らしましょう。

インドネシア語は、文法もとても簡単。時制や単複の別による動詞の活用も、ヨーロッパの言語に見られるような文法的な性別などもありません。単語を正しい順番に組み立てるだけでいいのです。前半の「場面活用編」では、単語を組み立てるだけで使える基本的な文型を押さえながら、場面ごとに使える単語や例文を収録しています。

例文は日常生活ですぐ使える自然な文を厳選しました。後半の「文法編」では、接辞を取り上げます。インドネシア語には多くの接頭辞、接尾辞、複合接辞があって、一つの基本語彙の前後にこれを付けることで、たくさんの関連語彙が作り出されているのです。接辞の原則を理解して、どんどん語彙を増やしましょう。
