「空き家 前編」(24分) Mさんは二十年以上前のことになるが大手の地図製作会社で調査員の仕事をしていたことがある。不動産業者や配送業者が使えるような世帯主の名前が入っている地図だ。 毎年各営業所に割り当てられた地区に出向き一軒一軒人の手で確認をし、世帯主に変更がないか、空き家はないかをチェックするのだ。 その年、新たに担当する地区には住宅街と、少し街中から離れた山間部の三軒並んだ家があった。Mさんはアルバイト数人に住宅地を任せ一人で山間部の家を目指した。 人里離れた三軒は手前の家はすでに空き家。真ん中の家は、ボロボロだがまだ人が住んでいるようだったが、地図の名前と表札の名前が違っていて確認するために母屋の裏手に回ってみると……。
