The majority of our beliefs about the world are instilled in us before we reach the age of seven.
The subconscious mind is constantly taking in experiences during those formative years, and those experiences determine how you approach your life.

You have the power to change your perception. The first step is to be self-aware enough to recognize that things can be different - and if you're reading this, you've already gotten there.
There are hundreds of resources online about changing your mind-set, and many of them contradict one another. It can be difficult to know what strategies work - and frustrating to switch from one approach to another without success.

- The six easy steps to forming new habits that will actually last, and how these habits can drastically improve your mind-set
- Real-world ways to implement the changes you want to see, with an entire chapter devoted to exercises you can practice with a partner
- The difference between feelings and emotions, and why the distinction will have a massive impact on how you approach problems
- The seven common pitfalls that contribute to a negative world view and the huge effect they're having on your life, without you even noticing
- Step-by-step instructions on goal-setting, self-reflection, and techniques for mental and physical wellness
- How you can reap the benefits of cognitive restructuring from the comfort of your own home
- And much more...
Creating a better life for yourself shouldn't require breaking the bank or following strict schedules that are hard to fit into your routine. You don't have to wait a minute longer to decide enough is enough. There's no need to keep holding yourself back with excuses like, "The timing isn't right." great relationship starts with you
It takes two to tango but for us to tango at our best, we need to take care of ourselves. I like that Miles Cohen focuses on the changes you can make to help you become an emotionally healthy person so you can show up better in your relationship. A lot of time when couple fight, we often place the blame on our significant other. This book focuses on what you can do to help you deal with your own negative thought and thinking pattern so you can develop a positive self-expression. Replacing negative thoughts with good one is not easy but I am taking on Cohen's advice of starting a thought diary to help me recognize my thinking style and nurture a better one.

Encouraging
when it comes to my relationships my lack of emotional stability has been self-destructive. It is so frustrating when I do something impulsively because of my emotions when I didn't even want to. This book has been a great starting point in developing techniques to manage my emotions and I have already seen improvements, I highly recommend this book.

A very helpful book
This book was a great read and I have learnt a lot from it. It has helped me to see that forming good habits in my life are part of the key to changing my negativity. I had come across this before, but the way the author has described it, in context, really makes sense, and appealed to me. Since reading this book I have been able to change my approach towards my children and this pandemic. Thank you so much.

Helping Heal our Relationship
After feeling guilty over the last year, I felt like I didn't deserve my partner. Even though there was nothing obvious that made me feel that way, those thoughts and feelings kept coming over me and making it difficult to emotionally engage with her. I found this book, and it has started to not only help me feel like I deserve her again, but it is also helping our relationship overall. The author knows the subject very well, and breaks down how to think about different aspects of your relationship, and how to heal areas that have been neglected.
The narrator is easy to listen to and speaks clearly. For anyone looking to breath new life into their relationship and reforge old bonds, I would definitely give this title a look!

Enlightening
I especially liked how we have to look at ourselves and our values. Interesting how one of my core values do not match my partners but making that discovery means we have a foundation to work on...thank you.
