Worth it
Have a listen to this book if you are into history of if you are just curious about France. I enjoyed listening to this as if I’m travelling back in time. I mean, imagine learning how France went from being a Roman colony to a Medieval powerhouse. You get to explore the rise of French identity, the explosion of culture during the Renaissance, and even dive into the drama of kings and revolutions. It's like binge-watching a historical drama series, but way more educational! It was fascinating to see how religion, culture, and politics all played a role in France's history.

A Captivating Synopsis of French History
In this audiobook, author Dominic Haynes presents the rich and complex history of one of the world's most influential nations.
Although I lived in France for many years I had very little knowledge about the vast and complex history of this leading global power. I am not one to study history but I was mesmerised by the information about the rise and fall of empires, the reigns of kings and queens, and the social and political revolutions that have transformed France over the centuries.
This is a fascinating look into France's rich and multifaceted past – a treasure trove for history lovers.

Great way to start my study of French history
When I was in school I didn't care about history. But now that I'm older, I find it so interesting! I've studied American history a lot and I've been wanting to learn about the history of other countries now. This book was the perfect way to start my study of France. It gave enough information to paint a clear picture, but not so much that I was overwhelmed by too much information. And this book kept my interest the whole time.
