What is that terrifying tree topper?
Christmas was never a peaceful holiday at Clark Mansion. But Bob and Emma are not aware of its gory past when they purchase the mansion. They dream of raising their family in the expansive home, but their dreams become living nightmares.
Emma and the kids witness horrifying sights. Emma is stalked by a madman who wants to control her. Too late, Bob and Emma realize that the mansion holds nothing but evil. Disappointing...
I found this by chance when looking for a good, spooky Christmas ghost story - and the blurb made it sound like an old-style ghost story, - family moving into a house with a dark past, weird stuff happens, but sadly there's no atmosphere or shocks to the piece, - the story is a short one and the ghostly happenings seem rushed into, the main ghost character despite his insanity, sadistic nature and apparent omnipresence in the house doesn't feel threatening. Clichés emerge left and right and the whole thing feels like a very inferior copy of Stephen King's superb Shining. Sadly I don't think I'll listen to it again
