About this listen

Masterful storytelling from #1 bestselling global phenomenon Sarah J. Maas brings her sexy, action-packed series to new heights.

Feyre has undergone more trials than one human woman can carry in her heart.

Though she’s now been granted the powers and lifespan of the High Fae, she is haunted by her time Under the Mountain and the terrible deeds she performed to save the lives of Tamlin and his people.

As her marriage to Tamlin approaches, Feyre’s hollowness and nightmares consume her. She finds herself split into two different people: one who upholds her bargain with Rhysand, High Lord of the feared Night Court, and one who lives out her life in the Spring Court with Tamlin.

While Feyre navigates a dark web of politics, passion, and dazzling power, a greater evil looms. She might just be the key to stopping it, but only if she can harness her harrowing gifts, heal her fractured soul, and decide how she wishes to shape her future—and the future of a world in turmoil.

I didn't think I'd have to write a review as I urgently need to get on to Book 3 immediately. I've been having a hard time recently, I'm grieving for the loss of my best friend of 27yrs. It was her woodland burial in Belsay, Northumberland, UK., last friday and the only thing keeping me sane is being knee deep in Audible books whilst I work, garden, walk etc... I started Book 1, ACOTAR on Friday evening and its Thursday and I've just finished this second volume. Fiona was the person who introduced me to Audible last Nov. & now I cant live without it. I'm onto my 43rd book since then. I love this world and the characters that Sarah J Maas has created and I'm relieved there are more stories to come x

most excellent, must go! have to start book 3 NOW!

Fantastic voice performance from Ikeda. An improvement on the first installment. The night court is far more exciting and mysterious. A bit inefficient and heavy handed in its plot development at times, and the dialogue /interior narration is not particularly inspired, but the descriptions of the world, the characterisation, and the angsty smutty romance, are all done well. My favourite element is the complex and fractious relationship between Feyre and Nesta. Other highlights include the visits to the Bonecarver (chilling) and the weaver (monstrous), the return of the Suriel (revelatory) , and er... wing kink (wink wink!) . Wish the details of the other courts were more fleshed out, though I expect we'll get there eventually. Excited by the possibilities open for book 3 and hoping the split narration continues so I don't miss out on half of the action as it's divided across a number of locations now.

Better than the first. Memorable characters.

Not a fan of new adult, but oh this book took me out to check it. Great performance and not a minute of boredom with this one. A lot more packed continuation of the first part.

Entertaining and light

I absolutely loved this book, it was far and away better than the first in the series, A Court of Thorns and Roses. The character development was stunning, and the action and romance elements fit in perfectly to the plot development. I can't wait for the third book now, but at least the author's other brilliant series Throne of Glass has a book coming out in September to satisfy me for a while!

Amazing sequel, can't wait for book 3!
