Summary

The seductive and stunning #1 New York Times bestselling sequel to Sarah J. Maas’s spellbinding A Court of Thorns and Roses. Adapted from the novel and produced with a full cast of actors, immersive sound effects, and cinematic music!

Feyre has undergone more trials than one human woman can carry in her heart. Though she’s now been granted the powers and lifespan of the High Fae, she is haunted by her time Under the Mountain and the terrible deeds she performed to save the lives of Tamlin and his people.

As her marriage to Tamlin approaches, Feyre’s hollowness and nightmares consume her. She finds herself split into two different people: one who upholds her bargain with Rhysand, High Lord of the feared Night Court, and one who lives out her life in the Spring Court with Tamlin. While Feyre navigates a dark web of politics, passion, and dazzling power, a greater evil looms. She might just be the key to stopping it, but only if she can harness her harrowing gifts, heal her fractured soul, and decide how she wishes to shape her future—and the future of a world in turmoil.

Bestselling author Sarah J. Maas’s masterful storytelling brings this second audiobook in her dazzling, sexy, action-packed series to new heights.

So fast!

The narrator speaks way too fast-I tried reducing the speed on the app, but the voices become distorted.

I enjoyed this dramatized adaption of this book and wish the third one in the series was complete. Really love the voices of all the characters.

Positive and negatives

The story is one of my favorites. The twist and turns entertaining. My biggest complaint is among the actors, I’ve had trouble enjoy the main character’s voice. Often speedy, how Ms. Muse pronounces S’s we’re very distracting. For instance, “glassless windows” was pronounced “glasssslesss windowssssszzz.” I appreciate the emotions and energy but the speech really ruins the listening experience. The performances as a collective are impressive. Sadly, the heroine truly made me stop listening and turn to the one narrator reading.

Love graphic audio!

I’ve never been able to pay attention to audiobooks with how monotone and bland they are. But I love Sarah J Maas and the ACOTAR books and decided to give this one a try. Absolutely incredible! I love the added background sounds, the different voice actors, and of course the story. I listen to it in 1.5x speed so it’s interesting other reviews said it was narrated too fast. Highly recommend and will be looking for other audiobooks from graphic audios!

The best part

The second half is the best part of this book. Romance and magic and scheming made this a wild ride and I’m so upset the graphic audio isn’t already available for ACOWAR!

Listen to the samples before buying...

I'd be lying if I said I'm not debating on buying the whole set... But....
The voice used for Feyre has some sort of mild speech impediment (on the S's) that really grates on me (the voice acting was well done, but the speech impediment just killed it for me).
Also... Rhys... His voice actor is not the match I would have personally selected for him. His voice isn't deep enough, smooth enough. I honestly think that the female narrators (both of them) who read the books in the non-graphic/movie version did a better job with Rhys' voice than the actual man in this version (to the man who did the voice acting: I'm sorry. You have a nice voice... But it's just not Rhys' voice)
Honestly, I'm REALLY hoping for a do over.
I'm hoping against all hopes that this series will be redone in this graphic/movie format with a different set of voice actors.
If this were redone with voice actors who were a better match for the characters, I'd buy the whole series in a heartbeat because I absolutely ADORE this series AND the idea of having the sound effects, music, and how the voices flip around like an actual movie. It's a wonderful concept... This version is almost, but not quite, up to snuff imo though.

Best way to listen to this series!

I have thoroughly enjoyed listening to this series in a dramatized way so far. I'm impatiently waiting for the next book.
The voice actors are great! Yes, some of the sound effects are pretty corny, but all in all it was very enjoyable to listen to.
