Cool, but a bit boring
this book is a must read to continue with book 2 and 3 in the series, but it's easily the least fun read. So don't get discouraged if you didn't like this one, book 2 is one of the best reads I had in a while!

Great story, well read, overall captivating
Story is well written with beautiful descriptions and in depth and realistic world building. Reader is very good, brings the world to life. A couple of cliche fairytale plot points but mostly minor and not a distraction from the overarching story. Overall a great read/listen and an excellent start to a series

Great but badly read
I don’t know who thought it’s a good idea to have someone with a lisp read for an audiobook but it was quite distracting throughout. Also the way certain names were pronounced was strange.. ‘Ree-saaaand’ in stead of ‘Rye-sand’ (for ‘Rhysand’). But the story is amazing and great!

Intriguing plot
I enjoyed the book overall but I found some aspects slightly cliché. However I thought the main was largely likeable and I think Sarah J Maas has vastly improved in this series. Will be reading the second book soon! Restored my faith in Maas.

Good Teen Romance
Story is interesting. A bit raunchy at some points, a little predicable, but entertaining still.

High fae romp
But so much more. See beyond the initially obvious Beauty and the Beast plot. The way the author talks about painting, nature and light to bring her characters alive is wonderful. 2 books in one. With extra fairy smut.
