Below Covent Garden lies the Untermarkt, where anything and everything has a price: a lover's first blush, a month of honesty, a wisp of fortune. As a child, Deri was sold to one of the Market's most powerful merchants. Now, after years of watchful servitude, Deri finally spots a chance to buy not only his freedom but also his place amongst the Market's elite when he stumbles into the path of a runaway princess desperate to sell her royal destiny.
But news of the missing princess and her wayward destiny spreads. Royal enforcers and Master Merchants alike are after it. Outmanoeuvring them all would all be hard enough had Deri not just also met the love of his life, a young man called Owain, whose employers are using the Market for their own nefarious schemes.
Deri soon finds that the price of selling the royal destiny, making a name for himself, and saving the man he loves is dear. The cost of it all might just change the destiny of London forever.

What a brilliant and superb book, absolutely loved it!!!!!!
This book is right up my alley. Two lovers, a magical market underneath London, goblins, fairies and not forgetting the talking cat. I couldn’t put this book down, I just wanted to see what would happen to both Deri and Owain. The way the Untermarkt was captured and portrayed in the book made it feel so real, and how every character was shown to be different and unique in their own way (especially the bad guys). A big shout out to the narrator Will Watt, he provided every single character with a voice that it made it feel like they were in the room with you and the way he could switch between voices was just another level of brilliant.
I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a magical escape from the real world and to be entranced in the wonders of this fabulous book. The rating speaks for itself (as said above), 5 stars all round for performance, story and overall enjoyment.
Read this book and you will not be disappointed!!!!

Amazing from start to finish
Absolutely loved this book, it was brilliant. Incredibly well written and the performance was excellent. Cannot wait for what's next for this author!!!

A gorgeous novel read beatifully
Clever, magical and deeply satisfying. Will Matt handles all the boxes expertly, with a myriad of accents and timbres. It's a joy to have such a magical book brought to such vivid life.

Great story with great narration
I'd seen a lot of hype around this book and after listening to it I understand why. It's a story with a lot of twists and turns but I never felt cheated or that there were contrivances just for the sake of moving the plot along. It's not easy to make a book this good and it's an exciting debut. Looking forward to what comes next.

Brilliantly narrated and a story that draws on Neil Gaiman and Suzanna Clarke and, delightfully, Heartstopper. one of my favourite audiobooks of the year.

Excellent narrator, really good story
Great fantasy tale, well written. Narrator does brilliantly, makes the characters come to life. I hope there is another book.
