Summary
A book of poems from the inkwell of life.
Who am I that has written all these poems?
I am a proud father and a family man. A Scotsman. A Londoner. A countryside-townie. A patriot. A rebel and a gentleman. A child of the seventies. A graduate from the school of hard knocks. A cat and dog lover. An aficionado of music and books. I am an outsider. I am a maverick, often outspoken and sometimes controversial. I am a warrior and worrier. An overthinker. I am both a success and a failure. I am intensely prolific. I am driven by creativity. I am a student and a tutor. I am a pagan. A disciple of nature. I am mid-fifties with an insatiable appetite to learn about life, about who we are and what we’re doing here.
I am a writer.
Some of the following poems were composed whilst in the throes of abject despair and a few were written when I was so happy, I couldn’t sleep for smiling. Others came together in moments of deep contemplation, the ether delivering words that I subsequently crafted into verse. Some rhyme, some don’t. The subconscious often deciding which it will be before I’ve had time to put pen to paper.
