About this listen
In the gripping new spy thriller from the Sunday Times bestselling author of Hitler's Secret, a Cambridge spy must unravel a dangerous mystery that goes all the way to the heart of the Third Reich—and the British Monarchy.
Sweden, 1942—Two old friends meet. They are cousins. One is Prince George, Duke of Kent, brother of the King of England. The other is Prince Philipp von Hessen, a committed Nazi and close friend of Adolf Hitler.
Days later, the Prince George is killed in a plane crash in the north of Scotland. The official story is that it was an accident—but not everyone is convinced.
There is even a suggestion that the Duke's plane was sabotaged, but with no evidence, Cambridge spy Tom Wilde is sent north to discover the truth . . .
Dramatic, intelligent, and brilliantly compelling, A PRINCE AND A SPY is Rory's best WWII thriller yet—perfect for fans of Robert Harris, C J Sansom and Joseph Kanon.

Great story well narrated
This was thoroughly researched, lots of detail seamlessly woven into the fiction. Vivid characterisation and appropriate delivery for each character.

Best so far IMHO!
This felt more true to life than the others, which is difficult as they are all well written. Excellent! I’m disappointed as I only have one book left. I inadvertently read number 7 first not realising it was part of a set.

Another great tale
The next instalment of WW2 tales from the Spy/Prof. A couple of real events are again used as the basis to weave the fictional story around. Yet again Clements pulls it off without it becoming far-fetched.

very good book
Storyline is excellent, travels, traitors and spies everywhere. A real life mystery woven into a story of possible events? The problem with Rorys' books is difficulty in stopping to do other things! Next book ASAP please.

Second book very addictive
Happy to have stumbled over this author, I do enjoy Adam Sims as a narrator. 2nd book for me, although touching on very emotional topics it’s delivered well.

Compelling story!
Compelling yet troubling story given the basis of truth underpinning it! Great performance and an excellent continuation of the Tom Wild story.

Great Story with a difficult subject
As with all Rory Clements stories starring Tom Wilde, this is a great listen. Clements always has you rooting for his central character, be it Wilde in this case, or John Shakespeare in his wonderful Tudor detective novels.
Whilst all the Tom Wilde stories to date have been involved with the struggle against the Nazi's, either pre or during WWII, this one is on a particularly emotive topic - The holocaust. I actually found the description of a visit to a death camp as particularly moving. I have of course heard many tales of the camps, but this one hit a chord for some reason.
Also - without spoiling the story for anyone - there are some great authors notes and historical notes at the end which i found fascinating, as they contained details of real life people i had never heard of.
A really excellent listen, as always from Rory Clements (10/10 from me)

excellent listen
I have now read the whole series. They are well researched and written. The background is well described and fits in with the time. Very very good listening and thought provoking.
