Where does a moderately popular internet star who never leaves her house look for potential suitors? Online. Tinder, Bumble, Match.com, OkCupid - I tried them all. My 31-year-old self clicked and swiped her little heart out, leading to more dates than I could count, and more disappointment than I was prepared for.
Maybe you can relate. Maybe you know all too well the perils of modern dating. But let’s say, eventually, you meet someone. You think to yourself, “Wow, they’re perfect! Take me off the market, put a ring on it, knock me up, the whole enchilada, because they are ‘the one.’” Let’s also say that they “feel the same way” about you. Your life starts to make sense! All the pain, heartbreak, and frustration from past failed relationships was worth it. Slow clap.
That’s how I felt about Milos. He was from Europe, a doctor, wealthy, athletic. He had an accent and a dog. Milos was textbook marriage material. For him it was “love at first sight”, but for me, it was “anxiety on every date”. Something was telling me to run - but for two years, the only running I did was straight into his arms.
If only I would have listened. This isn’t a love story. It’s my story of survival.

This book was incredible. I finished it beginning to end in less than 24 hours. what an incredible story and such an incredible woman. what a true mother. I can't wait to buy the book to read it myself and will recommend this to everyone I know. well done

Broke my heart
When I was a teen Brittany was one of my favourite YouTubers and when things became quiet on the platform for her I had always wondered what had happened. To hear what really happened broke my heart, watching her videos and thinking about what was really going on behind them was truly heartbreaking. Her narration is very much like her videos and I'm glad that she breaks up the story with titbits of her personality as it softens areas of heaviness between chapters. I also feel like not only is this a story about a sucky love story but a real love story about the love and friendship of motherhood.

Not my usual read but enjoyed it.
Very engaging lady. A modern love story with a bitter twist. Really felt like she was telling me her story over coffee.

Incredible story with a strong message
Hearing Brittani speak the words that she has had to keep silent for so long is an emotional and hard-hitting experience. As a subscriber of her YouTube channel, its easy to feel connected to Brittani and her fun quirky life, but what she unveils about the truth when the camera was switched off is heartbreaking and devastating.
She so carefully articulates her story with clarity and fierceness, punctuated with humour and pangs of raw emotion.
It is unimaginable how Brittani and her family have been able to endure this 'sucky' experience, but what speaks the loudest is her strength, compassion, wisdom, endurance and tenacity to create justice and piece her world back together again.
Brittani is a role model to all of us, teaching the hidden dangers of having a relationship with a sociopath and how to escape them.
Brittani is an absolute warrior with, undoubtedly, the proudest mother and son.
