About this listen
Since their YouTube channel, Following Finchmere, has taken flight, showcasing Dr Nell Ward's sustainability transformation at her family's Finchmere estate, it's her partner and colleague, Rav, who's become the star.
Amongst Rav's fan mail and gifts, Nell makes the chilling discovery that one person's obsession with him has metamorphosed into a deadly threat.
Just as Finchmere flings open its gates to welcome swarms of visitors to their idyllic summer fete - celebrating rewilding, artisan produce and local crafts - Nell realises the disguised peril has already wormed its way into the heart of Finchmere itself, and the path of destruction soon leads to murder.
DI James Clark's and Nell's powers of observation are put to the test to detect the camouflaged predator. With everyone as a suspect, who can Nell really trust when those she loves are in danger?
A Swarm of Butterflies is the sixth book in the Dr Nell Ward series. Perfect for fans of Richard Osman, Robert Thorogood and Janice Hallett!©2024 Sarah Yarwood-Lovett (P)2024 Bonnier Books UK

High tension from the start
Love this series and it gets better with each installment. We’re thrown into the action from the start and kept on our toes until the end.

I love these stories!!
6 books in and I still love these stories! Brilliant mixture of real nature facts, properly solid characters and the narrator, I think, is second to none, nailing every single accent, make and female vocal and really brings it to life! More!!!

Find the stalker
To be fair the story and plot was interesting and kept me listening. It had quite a few suspects and red herrings all with secrets etc but I felt sometimes people were a bit slow to pick up on clues that had been given but maybe as they were looking into things happening they had other things more urgent or relevant on their minds.
I did guess the Stalker/Killer and I’m not totally sure why they weren’t looked into with a background check in the beginning but I suppose if they had it would have been a very short story indeed. Overall I did enjoy this book and have read or listened to the previous ones too. I look forward to the next.

Twists & turns
Well written and well narrated. The many potential culprits leave you guessing until the end.

amazing
I have listened to all the Nell Ward Mysteries and like the other 5 books this cosy crime thriller includes endearing characters, beautiful wildlife and thrilling events. A puzzling whodunit that I adore. I do hope we will see more adventures from Nell in the future.

Good story
Tense exciting story, but I find Nell increasingly annoying and entitled. I’m not sure someone with her background would be able to fit in so well with people who really have to work for a living.
Narration is a bit OTT in places and unnecessary- it’s not Jackanory.
