About this listen

More than 2,000 years ago, the Greeks told stories about their important god called Apollo. He was the god of poetry, the sun, laws, healing, and more. Apollo was also the god of music. He played a small harp-like stringed instrument called a lyre. Apollo gave a lyre to his son named Orpheus. Apollo was so surprised when Orpheus played perfectly!

Nothing could resist the beautiful music of Orpheus. Trees, rocks, humans, and other animals were hypnotized by his melodies.

A fantastic short story.

I got this audiobook via a promo code at my request and this is my voluntary review.

Long before Harry Potter ruined literature when the trio faced off against a three-headed dog, there was Cerberus. I got this story to educate my neice and nephew with some of the ancient greek myths. Orpheus takes a stroll into the underworld with his Lyre in this book to sneak past his Uncle Hades' guard dog. My nephew (9) loved it, and my neice insisted that Harry Potter started it first (shes a work in progress).

Derik Hendrickson did a great job on the narration.
