About this listen
A sinfully sexy MM romance narrated in duet by Shane East and Joe Arden!
Lately, I’ve been full of questions. One hot summer night, I find all the answers when I kiss another guy for the first time. But he disappears, leaving me wondering who my mystery man was.
I can’t stop thinking about him. Even on the ball field, I’m daydreaming about his hungry hands, and the filthy things he whispered in his posh British accent.
Somehow, I still win one of the biggest games of my career, and afterward, the man surprises me with an invitation: “Meet me in a private suite.”
When I RSVP, he makes me an offer–one chance to try all the things I’ve never experienced. Then we’ll walk away. But once will never be enough.
Soon I’m locked into an intense lessons-in-seduction game with the secretive billionaire who keeps love at a distance, all while he pushes the boundaries of my brand-new desires.
Then, I learn that all my desires come with a terrible cost, as he breaks down the walls around my heart.

This book is hot hot hot
This book is hot hot hot. It is fast paced and full of steamy scenes. I enjoyed every second of Gunnar and Rafe's story. Loved the hit dominant Brit and the sexy submissive baseball player.
The narration is amazing. Joe Arden and Shane East do the best job at bringing these characters to life, they have such amazing chemistry.

The billionaire and the athlete
Ooh. What to say. Gunnar and Rafe are combustible from the moment they lay eyes on each other in a nightclub, to their ministrations in the owners box at the ball field, to their tryst in a hotel room, to their shenanigans in a restaurant . 100% combustible. Exactly what I would expect from third baseman Gunner and the underwear king. Alas, a relationship is not on the cards. Neither one is interested, nor looking for commitment. Or are they? Lots of sexy time, a cute story, and red hot narration (in duet) from Joe Arden and Shane East. I love MM romance, and Lauren Blakely is my go to author when I need a fix. I loved it. Audio all the way. There is even a wonderful insight into Lauren’s up and coming book - Limited Edition Husband - narrated by Teddy Hamilton and James Joseph as Nate and Hunter.
I was gifted a copy of this audiobook, this is my honest review..

The electrifying return of #Eaden
Never have I eagerly waited for an audiobook quite this intensely but since I first discovered the unique and instantly addictive narrator combination of Shane East and Joe Arden, aka #Eaden, around 9 months ago from their first outing in Blakely's earlier book A Guy Walks into my Bar (AGWIMB), I have been literally marking the days off on a calendar until their return.
First off, I was not disappointed, not at all. This is After Dark #Eaden where they go full on aural seduction mode. If A Guy Walks into my Bar is the big sprawling epic love story full of emotions, this is the fast, dirty and intensely sexy affair which will turn you ALL the way on! If you like your romance delivered in audio, then you definitely need to get yourself a copy of this one. You know you are in trouble when you start listening and only on chapter 2 you are already giggling and smiling like an idiot at the deep gravely domineering tones of Shane East or the smooth confident cheekiness of Joe Arden.
Listening to this is a purely decadent experience where you can just lie back and let their voices caress you all over until you explode from the incendiary heat of this book :) It is a non stop, delicious escalation of sexual tension that only Blakely can deliver.
I give the story a 4.5 only because compared to her other MM stories this one does lack a little of the emotional punch of her others, like the epic Hopelessly Bromantic duet or, my personal favourite, The Boyfriend Comeback. But having said that there is still a lot here to enjoy.
We have Rafe Rodman, the dominant British Billionaire who locks eyes in a club with the young athlete Gunner Ford who is looking for the right guy to show him what it is like to be with a man. Cue intense flirting, several explosive trysts and an arrangement and you have one enjoyable ride. I think because the roots of this story were in a novella, it does have the feel more of a snapshot with the long delicious drawn out seduction back and forth but then there isn't much time to fully explore the tensions and reasonings as to why this couple are forcing themselves apart. It is unfair perhaps to compare to AGWIMB because that was a beautifully structured epic of a love story where you instantly got caught up in all the feelings and emotions of the characters as the clock counted down.
Compared to that A Very Filthy Game feels like a very passionate and intense hookup that always leaves you wanting to be let in just a little more. But as I said don't let that put you off, this audio will melt your headphones and the narrators are at the absolute height of their powers in this one.
I would recommend this to everyone who loves a hot MM romance and needs to experience (which really is the only word) the narrator power couple that is #Eaden. Buckle up, and stay hydrated!

Nothing new
Shane east and joe Arden were great as always, but I didn’t enjoy the story very much. I’ve read or listened to all of Lauren’s MM books, and found they’re all starting to sound the same now, the same themes and lines cropping up over and over. The theme of control and submission came up in this one and Zane and Maddox’s story, but wasn’t really developed so still didn’t differentiate them. Lauren’s books used to be an instant buy for me, but I’ll probably think twice about the next one
