Summary

Take a trip with Adam Hills and his sold-out crowd at London's Hammersmith Apollo to the Clown Heart of comedy.

In this live recording, Adam and his sign interpreter, Catherine, join forces with a willing audience to create some onstage stars and hit a few comedic high notes. Along the way he embraces love, life and death with his inimitable positivity, laughing in the face of tragedy and 'kicking cancer in the d**k'.

Hard to follow when a lot of the jokes are visual

There was definitely some funny bits and I totally love the " kick Cancer in the dick" part. But a lot of the jokes are visual, so you miss the full effect of the show.

Awesome and frustrating

Absolutely loved it, hilarious. Frustrated I couldn’t see the pictures as part of the jokes 😢

lots of laughs

Adam Hills gives another great performance in this stand up show. It's not quite as good as his Happyism show was but still has plenty of laughs.

Absolutely pointless

Why put a clearly visual performance as an audiobook?
Couldn’t understand much of what was going on, don’t waste your time.

Doesn't work well as an audio recording

I am sure the DVD version is amazing but there are some parts of this audio recording that need to be backed up with video.

love the comedy but doesn't work as an audiobook

I love Adam Hills, but this audiobook is just a straight recording of the show and you miss out of the visual sides.

Basically the audio from the DVD

What about Adam Hills’s performance did you like?

He is considerate, compassionate, and funny.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I didn't plan to, but ended up doing so.

Any additional comments?

It would really be better to watch the DVD (or stream it if it is available). A fair amount of the jokes are visual (what is happening on stage), so you miss them on the audio version. He talks about having a woman signing the jokes for the deaf members of the audience, an audible listener would benefit from described audio version so we can get the most of this performance.
