Lovely story, narration not so much

My kids love these stories and have read and listened to them all. But there’s no beating a professional voice artist for narration - the version read by Paterson Joseph is absolutely superb, it really brings the story to life. McCall Smith’s voice is leaden and nowhere near as expressive; and he sounds far too pompously imperial. Not suitable for an African story in the 21st century.
