Story
Civil war looms in the Bobiverse in this brand-new, epic-length adventure by Audible number one best seller Dennis E. Taylor. More than a hundred years ago, Bender set out for the stars and was never heard from again. There has been no trace of him despite numerous searches by his clone-mates. Now Bob is determined to organize an expedition to learn Bender’s fate - whatever the cost. But nothing is ever simple in the Bobiverse. Bob’s descendants are out to the 24th generation now, and replicative drift has produced individuals who can barely be considered Bobs anymore.

We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

In the twentieth century Earth sent probes, transmissions and welcoming messages to the stars. Unfortunately, someone noticed. The Galactics arrived with their battle fleet in 2052. Rather than being exterminated under a barrage of hell-burners, Earth joined their vast Empire. Swearing allegiance to our distant alien overlords wasn't the only requirement for survival. We also had to have something of value to trade, something that neighboring planets would pay their hard-earned credits to buy.

Lovely retelling of a classic.

Summary
The epic and highly anticipated conclusion to the listener-favorite series that had countless Audible listeners (and employees) hooked from the very first Bob - featuring, as always, a flawless performance from the inimitable Ray Porter.
Being a sentient spaceship really should be more fun. But after spreading out through space for almost a century, Bob and his clones just can't stay out of trouble.
They've created enough colonies so humanity shouldn't go extinct. But political squabbles have a bad habit of dying hard, and the Brazilian probes are still trying to take out the competition. And the Bobs have picked a fight with an older, more powerful species with a large appetite and a short temper.
Still stinging from getting their collective butts kicked in their first encounter with the Others, the Bobs now face the prospect of a decisive final battle to defend Earth and its colonies. But the Bobs are less disciplined than a herd of cats, and some of the younger copies are more concerned with their own local problems than defeating the Others.
Yet salvation may come from an unlikely source. A couple of eighth-generation Bobs have found something out in deep space. All it will take to save the Earth and perhaps all of humanity is for them to get it to Sol - unless the Others arrive first.
All These Worlds is the third installment in the blockbuster Audible Original Bobiverse series - which has sold more than one million copies.

One of the best series ever written
Truly incredible writing. This series has something for everyone; anthropology, AI, space, classic sci fi references, philosophy, psychology, comedy, suspense, what it means to be human and what it means to evolve, imaginative new species, both younger and older than our own, exploration of various types of relationships and their meaning to us as individuals, gorgeous emotional character development, varied but not convoluted plot, absolutely incredible narration with beautiful characterisation and acting. I honestly cannot recommend these books enough. Thoroughly enjoyed.

A terrific read
Given the subject matter is the adventures of cloned computerised minds as they make their way through the galaxy, the humanity of the story is fulsome. This is a touching account of what it means to be human in the face of adversity. The various "Bobs" - the cloned minds of a dead programmer - pursue different paths, love in different ways, and fight for the existence of all sentient life. It's warm, clever and gripping, with no padding and a pacy storyline that allows the reader very little put-down time. But for the need to sleep, I would have read this in one sitting. I look forward to the next episode in the Bobiverse.

Fantastic
I love this series, it's just brilliant. The writing is good, the amount of humour is perfect and the characters although all the Bob's originate from one it's so great to see the differences between them. I loved that although they were basically the same there were ones that I was more interested in hearing how they were doing than others.
If you like sci fi then I'm sure you will enjoy this trilogy.

Loitering in the stone age and missing opportunity
I really liked the first book, was a touch underwhelmed by the second book and hate myself for disliking the third.
I am sad to say that I have found this third instalment very superficial in that it gave the impression of simply typing up all the loose ends to close the series and introducing no interesting or new concepts. What's more I found a lot of characters and thought processes unrealistic.
The others were building a dyson sphere in the book 2 and I half expected this to be about Matrioshka brain of the others versus parallel computing of the Bob, but all it came down to was just a big old fight with nukes and lasers and I felt that it was a missed opportunity to make the story thought-provoking like a culture novel would. The fact that the others were barely even mentioned until chapter 63 was another irritant in my opinion. Instead, this sc-fi novel lingered for at least four times as long as it needed to on the stone age deltans.
Lastly, I have spent an unreasonably large amount of effort to not just stop listening when the colony council decided to attack one of Bob's clones in an effort to retain their power over the colony, after having been warned and dismissing Bob's objections and concerns and after Brigitte's daughter has done everything possible to annoy the Bob clone.
BOB! the God-like AI that controls weapons, food and everyone alive owes their life to! If It were me, I would let it go taxidermist on my mother if it felt like it, but apparently in the Bobiverse, everyone and their dog are happy to just underestimate and dismiss the all-powerful being, with neither respect, gratitude, awe, nor fear motivating them to at least taking heed to Bob's input.
I did once again tear up at the funeral scene however, but I think that speaks more about y being a mellow wreck of a person with age, more than anything.
I am very sorry, but I did not like this book.

Mistake was made and corrected
My initial assumption was correct - the recording came without the last hour/14 chapters, but now it contains the full book. You just have to redownload it. If Audible can contact early buyers they should do so, because it would be a great shame if they wouldn't be able to experience a proper closure to this great series.

The final book- good story, meh ending
So you've done it, you've either gotten to the 3rd book and trying to decide to continue on or you've finished and now trying to see if anyone else thinks like you do and reading reviews of this book. Well these are my thoughts on the final book in the Bobverse.
Book 3 is a meh ending to a good story. The big conflict ends pretty much how you expect- just how it got there is, well, meh. I won't spoil it, but I was hoping for something better. My feeling is the author got to a point and had to figure out how to end the book by a certain number of words/pages. I wasn't thrilled with how the battle ended, I felt it was a cheap plot fix honestly.
That said, I did enjoy the way they decided to 'resolve' the others home issue. Many of the storylines resolved well, but not all in my opinion, hence the 'Meh' part of my feelings. but I didn't write this book, I just read it.
Again though, I wanted to know what would happen next and was happy overall with it.
if you are looking for a series with a similar feel, find Nathan Lowell's 'Trader's Tale' series. Again nothing spectacular, but very well written and performed.
I'm sad the series is over, but know that it is still open and more stories can be written in the Bobverse and I hope there will be some.
Thanks Mr. Taylor!

A waste of a credit
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
I recommended the first book before finishing the series, and I'm a bit embarrassed that I did now. I wanted to like this book so much. I listened to all 3 back to back, and by the middle of book three, I was just wishing it would end so I could move on to another book. It had such potential. In book one, Bob replicates himself to create 5 new bobs, with the promise that each would have a part of his personality and become distinct characters, but it didn't follow through on that promise. Each chapter begins with the name of the bob who was narrating but, if you accidentally miss the name, you wouldn't know which character it was. Their voices were all so similar. The only way to tell them apart was by their location or storyline and even that was a stretch because there were so many. The end of the book was the worst anti-climax I have read in a long time; I finished it yesterday and I can't actually remember what happened in the final battle. I only remember who won.
What does Ray Porter bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
The narrator was the only redeeming feature of this book by the end. His sense of comic timing and delivery were excellent. But the indistinguishable characters made the narration become boring and predictable. That is not the narrator's fault in any way. I will be looking for other books narrated by him.
Did All These Worlds inspire you to do anything?
I've had a go at writing books myself and have learnt a lot about storytelling in the process. Unfortunately, that means I can see where and why it went wrong and the temptation to write a review that suggests ways to correct it is strong (but I will try to resist). It taught me not what to do when writing a book so in some ways, listening to it was a valuable exercise. Perhaps I'll try writing again.
Any additional comments?
To be brutally honest, this book was a waste of a credit and because it was the final book in the series, that means the other two were a waste of credits too. There's no point in starting a series if you're not motivated to see it through to its conclusion so don't bother with any of them.

I wonder what could have been
I'm not a writer and don't pretend to be a critic. It's easy to see what occurs in multi-sequel books and movies, that it's just not easy to tie a grand scheme together time after time. This is sort of how I felt with the wrap up of this series. The first part was excellent, interesting and novel... a new twist to AI and space exploration. But as the story progressed, it got bogged down in personal politics and rushed storytelling. It's like the author came to a crossroad in book 2... to the left lead a path that would bring this series to epic proportions and galactic grandeur, while the right path lead to a quick and convenient end. You can sense the greatness of what could have been and, in finishing the story, I felt a sense of loss that it could have been more.
That is not to say it was not enjoyable. It was just too conveniently and quickly ended.
The narrator was good throughout the books and finished well here in book three.
It was worth the credit and I don't regret it, although I'll continue to wonder what could have been.

If you got this far, you have a pretty good idea
This is the weakest of the Bobiverse books, but it's still good and if you finished the previous two you will of course want to find out what happens. My main complaint is the jumps between multiple plots with hugely different stakes. One plot might be concerned with the fate of an entire race, another they might be purely personal, and they play out at the same time, without either plot informing the other. It's a bit schizophrenic. But I still recommend the whole series, and Ray Porter's voice will always BE Bob to me.

Satisfying End to a Fun Series
It took a while for this one to get going for me but by the end of it I felt completely satisfied. Taylor wraps up all the loose ends and gives fitting endings to all of the characters. In keeping with the other 2 books, this one kept the balance of humor, pop culture references, heartfelt moments, and action. Ray Porter continues to show why he is one of the best in the business. I look forward to his future works.
I hope that this is the ending. Not because I'm glad it is over but rather I would hate to see it be brought back and have the conclusion tainted. The subjective nature of the ending is something that my friends and I are continuing to discuss and that is what makes a great story.

Not sure if I loved this one as much as the rest
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
I loved that there are so many Bob's in this story, but there were a couple points where I think I missed the transition and I didn't realize which Bob we were with, so while it's great to have them all, there were a few moments of confusion for me.
What does Ray Porter bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I am not so secretly in love with Ray Porter, so he can do anything, and I would love it. I think that he did an excellent job, per usual.
Any additional comments?
I think the production value of this book wasn't as good as last time. There were some clear points were the narration was poorly cut, and Ray sounds like he's sitting farther from the mic for a minute or two and then it goes back to normal. This happens a lot, but while it doesn't take away from the book, it's noticeable enough to be a little distracting.
I still loved the book, I think it was a little anti-climactic compared to the previous one, but I would still recommend the series.

Compelling Narrative; Talented Performance
Bobiverse book 3 is sets a new standard in sci-fi storytelling awesomeness - things just get more interesting in the wake of crushing Delta Pavonus defeat. The foreboding 'Others' threat maintains a constant suspense you just keep wondering about. The storyline is filled with futuristic realism and compelling plot lines. Dennis Taylor masterfully progresses his grand-plan narrative into an ever culmination climax that leaves you begging for Book 4! Very well done! You'll be taken places you've never imagined possible.
Ray Porter skillfully narrates the complex Bobiverse cast of characters; His consistency of tone with each makes the audiobook very pleasing to listen to and highly believable. His highly talented performance will lead you from laughter to anxiety and everything in between. Thank you Ray for such a great performance; I highly look forward to the next installment!

Clean ending to a fantastic series
Note: Early readers need to redownload to get the complete book!!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. As with any series ending, you always wish there was more, and this book didn't feel as complete as the others, but was still a great read. The conflicts that arose were varied, and exposes the depths of humanity's desire for power and self interest. They were not as complex as in the previous two books, and the resolution came about a bit easy at times, but it didn't take away my enjoyment. Besides, we wanted to get to the battle with the Others anyway. Again, it was over a bit too quickly, but definitely gives you a sense of finality. The only minor sticking point is the Medeiros story line doesn't feel as complete. There are some real emotional highs and lows in this book I don't want to come close to spoiling. Overall a great end to a fantastic series.
Ray Porter's performance is amazing.
Do not read this book without finishing the previous two.

A fun ending but maybe the other two were better.
Overall this is a really fun trilogy of stories that is far more believable than most other sci-fi stories. It's still quite out there however so much enjoyment. Unfortunately the third edition is a bit drawn out maybe. Still a very good story and a great audiobook. One of my favorites for sure.
