Two good mysteries

I enjoyed this book. I didn't realise at the time of purchasing, so it was a pleasant surprise to find that there were two mysteries included in this book. Each book is very different but continue the story on nicely. I have listened to a few books in this series and not necessarily in the right order so I can say the books work as standalone mysteries. I really like the authors style of writing as she combines a lot of information in the story to flesh out the different environments the characters find themselves in but the information or romance is nicely balanced and never distracts from the mystery. The characters are like able and down to earth, making them fun to read about.
Mystery on the bayou book six
This was easily my favourite of the two books. Although the killer and reason for the disappearance was easy to guess it was such a good mystery that I didn't mind.
Even on her honeymoon Amelia can't help but find a case for her and her new husband to get involved in. A woman who had to give up her son for a adoption has developed a medical condition that she might have passed down to her son. It's a closed adoption and the lawyer won't help and she wants to hire the couple to find him. Following the clues the pair track down his adopted parents only to find the boy is missing and wanted by the police. Can they find him before he is arrested?

The light house secret book seven
This book is the first case the couple take after returning home from there honeymoon and this time it is personal. I love the close knit family interaction.
Amelia decides to help solve a mystery involving her new husbands family. Rick's uncle died in a tragic boating accident give years ago but the family never believed the police's finding. Especially with a creepy lawyer still asking questions about him. Can Amelia and Rick 're trace his finale movements and discover what happened to him?
I like the narrator. She puts in a lot of effort and enthusiasm in to the story, even going as far as signing.

An entertaining series

Rick and Amelia are still the cutest couple. Getting married didn't change the chemistry and fun between the two characters. I got the impression that they were still getting to know one another. I wouldn't mind seeing how they'd cope with a good argument!

I listened to this book in a couple of sittings. It held my attention and kept me entertained. I've listened to the whole series and enjoyed the narration throughout.
I enjoyed meeting Rick's family in this collection and all the teasing and banter that went on when he was with his family. I also enjoyed the mystery of his missing and presumed dead uncle; although I wasn't quite sure why Rick spent so long simply wondering what really happened as it would be unlike Rick to leave something like this unsolved. Not only that but he has unfettered access to a detective agency! Luckily it only takes a brief conversation with Amelia for the pair to set off in search for answers.
I liked the back story surrounding his uncle's disappearance. I thought it was both realistic and it had a romantic angle. It was an intriguing mystery and I enjoyed following the couple on their investigation.

I am quite sad that this is the final book in the series. I am not ready to say goodbye to Rick and Amelia just yet so no doubt I will be revisiting them from the beginning sometime soon.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy provided by the author and this is my unbiased opinion.
