A great novel awfully narrated

This a great novel, one of my absolute favourites, but the narration is awful.
It's almost comical how bad the narration is with constant random pauses as the narrator struggles to get his words out.
Honestly, you have to hear it to believe how bad it is. No matter what I say I can't do it justice when describing how bad it is.
