About this listen

After a mysterious death occurs, Hollywood's most prized event is held for ransom by its very own movie star. And the Clue Queen finds herself relocated in a behind-the-scenes battle for the unedited truth of whodunit, if anyone did. It's a 21 day countdown to the Oscars, a media-sized tug-of-war both for and against a show that "might not go on" this time.

Experience a mystery-laced, "drumroll please" chess match of wits with characters like movie director Simon Says, visitor Mr. "Squeaky" Kleen, a mysterious janitor, a frightened make-up artist, and a most wanted serial family tree chopper named Timber.

Face-to-face with the opposite of her career decision, separated from her "tricky little sister", and even stalked by an element of her amnesia's past, will Dedra Kare still remember to forget?

This audiobook functions both as a stand-alone mystery and book four in the Karma's Revenge series.

A star is born

I really enjoyed this book. I listened to book five in this series and although I did enjoy it I felt like I had missed something, so I went back to this book to see if it would help more sense. Boy did it! With this book I felt I had a better I understanding of the fun and quirky characters and what was going on, it also helped that the story don't jump around so much. I liked the plot idea for this one and how a film star uses her power of popularity for good use in a very unique way and I thought the mystery played out nicely, in fact I enjoyed it so much that I am going to go back to the beginning of the series.
When Dedra's friend kidnaps herself in order to force the police to reopen the case of her favourite teacher's death. Dedra is the one she turns to for help in acting out her plan and in solving the case. With other members of the teacher's family becoming targets the police fear that a mass killer called Timber is back and the axes left at the scenes of crime sure seem to point to it but with the Oscars fast approaching and the main star still refusing to turn can Dedra solve the case? Or will her missing memory get in the way?
The narrator tries hard but doesn't really have a big enough range for the voices needed for all the characters in this book. She does try hard and I like the use of sound effects.
