About this listen
Angel Maker is the stunning first outing for DI Jamie Johansson and will have listeners on the edge of their seats. Perfect for fans of Jo Nesbø, Will Dean, Maria Adolfsson, Angela Marsons, and JD Kirk, Angel Maker is sure to cement Greene as one of your new favourite authors.
When a teenage girl is found dead in the woods, her body posed like an angel, Stockholm holds its breath. The kill bears a chilling resemblance to those of the Angel Maker, a serial killer caught two decades ago.... One who just died in prison. Detective Inspector Jamie Johansson is taking some much-needed time away from the London Met when the call comes in. Her father, one of Stockholm's most notorious detectives, caught the Angel Maker when she was just a girl, and Jamie has long since closed the door to that part of her life. But with the original case files missing, the threat of another kill looming, and her father’s reputation at stake, Jamie is drawn back to the frozen streets of her hometown to finish what he started. Has a copycat emerged? Or did he catch the wrong man all those years ago?

Great story- shame about the Pronouns!
A rattling good yarn, well narrated by a voice proficient in Swedish. An unusual back story for the main protagonist. Interesting characters. BUT jarring misuse of personal pronouns - her when she should have been used for example. What do editors do these days?

A very enjoyable introduction to the series.
Well written with a good plot and good characters.
I bought the second in the series on the strength of this one.

Jamie set her jaw
a good detective story ruined by excessive over use of the same phrasing. how did it get past an editor.. surely someone must have thought and suggested that a different term or phrase be used at times.
the lead character is good with a compelling backstory, a story that comes around again at the very end of the book. the characters are distinct making it easier to follow and it wraps up with a nice twist.
but honestly hard to get past Jamie setting her jaw every 10mins. and reviews of the second book in the series suggests this authors habit only gets worse. shame because the ending of this book sets up a follow on really well.
I think this author needs to be put in the caring hands of a better more experienced editor.

Gripping
I enjoyed this book as it was fast paced and gripping plot. The narrator was excellent. The only downside was the number of characters and their Swedish names, as I sometimes became confused who was who. But I liked the main character and the ending, therefore I bought the next book in the series.

Enjoyed
Thought I would struggle to find another good read after the last ones I enjoyed. But I really got into this from chapter 1. So many twists and turns and a shock at end. Starting the next book now. Greatly narrated by Sofia Engstrand. Morgan Greene is great my first book by him.

A good listen
Loved this as a slightly different plot as a met police last goes to Sweden and helps work a crime there
Well narrated and loved the use of the Swedish language to authenticate and well done narrator for seamlessly using both languages
