Four years after the devastating invasion by agents of Lon-Ser, Tobyn-Ser's Order of Mages and Masters is riven by conflict and paralyzed by inaction. From the outlander, Baram, they have learned much about their neighbor to the west: unlike Tobyn-Ser, which is served by the Mage-Craft of the Children of Amarid, Lon-Ser is devoid of magic; instead, it possesses a dazzling and deadly technology that shapes every aspect of its people's daily life. Summary
International best-selling author Trudi Canavan returns with the second novel in the Millennium's Rule series - her most powerful and thrilling adventure yet.
Tyen is teaching mechanical magic at a school respected throughout the worlds. News arrives that the formidable ruler of all worlds, long believed to be dead, is back and enforcing his old laws - including the one forbidding schools of magic. As teachers and students flee, Tyen is left with no home and no purpose...except the promise he made to Vella, the sorcerer imprisoned in a book. Tyen must decide what he is willing to do to free her.
After five years among the tapestry weavers of Schpeta, Rielle's peaceful new life has been shattered by a local war. As defeat looms, the powerful Angel of Storms appears and invites Rielle to join the artisans of his celestial realm. But what will he require in return for this extraordinary offer?

A struggle to finish the book.
Will not be getting the 3rd book.
The story line is so slow you sometimes want to change the speed of the audio.
The people who actually read the book are good and put a lot of effort into the boring characters.
I enjoyed the “Magicians” trilogy but this is a poor effort.
Sorry.

Trudi delivers again with the second installment
continues the story from book 1. universe (well technically multiverse) is different from the Magician's Guild/Traitor Spy world with a different magic system. As with the first book performance was good although I struggled to get into the performance of the female reader easily. male narrator is excellent. That said I even enjoyed the female narrators parts as the writing was good.

slow starter and very repetitive but gets better
seemed to be hearing the same sentences over and over again; especially the rielle chapters. tyen was the more interesting story and felt like a story and not so repetitive. book gets better towards end and once 3/4 way through. voice acting was very good though and kept different characters voices same throughout, some of the accents were a little weird but you knew the character by voice rather than the story the whole time. good acting.

Absolutly fantastic
Where does Angel of Storms rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Near the top
What other book might you compare Angel of Storms to, and why?
Trudi Cannavan's Age of Five trilogy because the magic system is similar and the plot has some similar points to it.
Any additional comments?
The magic system is so similar to the one in 'The Age of Five Trilogy' which although isn't as well known as Trudi Cannavan's other books is my favorite, and it is so easy to imagine that world is a distant world from this trilogy that is although rich in magic is isolated and untraveled to.
If you liked the 'Age of Five Trilogy' you must read/listen to this, and if you liked this one you must read/listen to 'Age of Five'

Great story, just couldn't get behind it
I really wanted to love this story. The world building is fantastic and 3/4 way through I was hooked but I was really disappointed with the ending. All the characters I began to like or found interesting were disposed of. The only continuity you have are the two main characters but they never seem to connect with anyone for long enough.
The performance of the narrators are fantastic though.
Unfortunately I won't be reading any more in this series.

Ok but later books get VERY repetitive!
The first book is good. The world is interesting and there seems like a few nice plot lines.
But as the series goes on the same details and descriptions get repeated over and over again until you find yourself metally yelling "I KNOW ABOUT THE DAMN BREATHING THING! YOU'VE MENTIONED IT 50 TIMES ALREADY!"
Besides the over explanation, its fine. Cool universe, interesting idea and great narration but just not very engaging.
