Summary

George Orwell's timeless and timely allegorical novel - a scathing satire on a downtrodden society's blind march towards totalitarianism. The book tells the story of a group of farm animals who rebel against their human farmer, hoping to create a society where the animals can be equal, free, and happy. Ultimately, however, the rebellion is betrayed, and the farm ends up in a state as bad as it was before, under the dictatorship of a pig named Napoleon. Today it is devastatingly clear that wherever and whenever freedom is attacked, under whatever banner, the cutting clarity and savage comedy of George Orwell's masterpiece have a meaning and message still ferociously fresh.

Cometh the hour cometh the Pig

Animal Farm is a view of what we see happening right now sadly. Read with Orwell's 1984 and you will see what a propthetic writer he was. these two books should be on every library shelf under politics and political science

Excellent, interesting and enjoyable

Does what it says in the title. The book is excellent, interesting and enjoyable. Both prophetic and historic.

It's a good novella, with great simple, and approachable prose. It's interesting to read something from a time when Orwell was more enamoured with socialism and less jaded, however as enjoyable as it is, it is just nothing compared to his magnum opus, 1984, which does all the same things only better.

I loved reading this, and its so short you have to read it, but wait until you get your teeth in to 1984.

Excellent book

I have always enjoyed and appreciated this classic novel, and this.audio version is awesome. Somehow, the story's powerful message becomes almost more relevant, over time.

Coccidiosis

A classic story with a great narrator. A good listen for when you want something short.

Laughed heartily at the narrator using the word coccidiosis for the first time

A bit boring

Was really disappointed throughout this story, not so good as 1984. 1984 was more exciting and frightening than Animal Fram

Paul Reuben

Its hard to think how communists marxists socislists and liberals can't see themselves in the animals described in the book. A classic condemnation of the Woke virus plaguing the West but rejected by most of the planet.
