About this listen

Thione Aldermann, a third generation homesteader in the Columbia Valley, now the first interplanetary traveler, is completely out of her depth as she and Guest hurtle through the cosmos toward his homeworld. She doesn’t know what she’s doing, she can’t speak the language, and even worse, no one feels like telling her why she’s there. One thing’s for sure; she’s not along for the ride.

On Guest’s homeworld, the prosperous home city, rich with fruits and warm sunshine hides a darker reality; Guest’s people are in the middle of a planet-wide extinction event after an intense, prolonged meteor shower. Despite decades of research and effort, scientists haven’t turned the tide in a battle against the encroaching cold and violent weather. The entire fate of Guest’s species rests in Thione’s hands. All she has to do is risk everything to save them.

Jeanie Talbot brings Another Guest to life with her warm, animated voice. Perfectly reflecting the emotion and the action on the page, her narration elevates the text from clever prose to beautiful theatre.

A fine sequel

I found this books and the first in series during my weekly rummage through the new releases. Exceptional narration of two very sweet stories.

Audible seems to promote and recommend the same old books over and over. Now they have taken the chance to follow reviewers with similar tastes away, there seems to be no other way to discover new authors. It is frustrating as a customer and I'm sure to authors too.

Try the first book. This book in all honesty isn't quite as good. It still left me with a warm glow of how lovely it would be to live in that world where discovery of aliens didn't lead to apocalyptic battles etc etc. I like happy endings. If you do too you might enjoy Guest and Another Guest.

The sequel is just as good as the first book.

I loved 'Another Guest'. I adore stories where there is a different world someone has to discover. Just like the first book, it is well written, with lovable well rounded characters and the narration is brilliant.
I could listen to stories about Guest and Thione adventures forever. Its a sweet happy listen that won't disappoint you.
