Summary

At the end of the world, a groundbreaking scientific experiment will change everything.

Dr. Laura Reynolds had it all. A job she loved. The respect of her peers. Student debt she was slowly chipping away at.

And one day, it all went away.

She saw the wrong thing—a colleague's mistake. And to escape, he framed her.

Laura's only option is to join a secretive research project in Antarctica, where she hopes to keep practicing medicine and one day get her life back. But soon after arriving, she realizes that things aren't what they seem in this advanced facility.

And perhaps something strange is happening in the world outside.

Welcome to Antarctica Station, A.G. Riddle's first new sci-fi thriller in almost a year. It's a deep dive into the science and history of Antarctica—with a twist few will see coming.

Enjoyable near future tail but lacking world building

Near future fiction not A.G best but better than previous time travel romp. Focuses on a single character and as usual for Mr Riddles stories it’s takes one concept and runs with it the whole environment feels two dimensional and there is no world building. Well read, with the empathy and pace it needs. An enjoyable read but it doesn’t challenge you, not making you want to know more.

The recipe is off

An excellent start that peters out in a weakly characterised and thinly plotted 3rd act.

Another Sci-fi Thriller that brings not but a light dusting of science and a little sprinkle of thrills. Relatively pulpy for the modern age, it feels (as many have already said) like the conglomeration of a few different off-cut ideas that have coalesced into a fairly bog-standard fictional stew.

It’s a shame because the base ingredients themselves are delicious. And the narration is excellent.

Thoroughly enjoyable!

I love the twists and turns of A.G Riddle's writing, always a new arc in the story to keep you listening. Highly recommend!

Good Narrator! poor story.

loved the narrator, she was very good in bringing the story alive, yet the story was absolutely awful. why do male authors always stereotype female protagonist by talking about their feelings!

Good but not the best

Started well but lost pace at times. Not as intriguing as I’d hoped. Worth a listen.

Different but good

Slow starter, but stick with it; you are in for a treat. Different, but great genre from this author. Audio voice is also very good.

Addictive

I have to say I found this to be very gripping to the point I did nothing but listen to it over 3 days. I felt like I needed to uncover the story and found out what had happened!
The narrator was great, a very easy listen, nearly all chapter were short and sweet.
I am wanting to listen to more A.G Riddle books and hope they are just as good as this one ❤️

Great book

An apocalyptic novel with a difference! Won’t give the game away but well worth listening to.

Yawn

Book looked exciting so I used a credit and looked forward to the story. Unfortunately I am not enjoying this audible book. I feel I have wasted my credit.

Struggled to finish the book

I have read or listen to every book that AG Riddle has written. But in this book, I got the feeling throughout this story wasn't written by him, just didn't feel like his style. In this case the story didn't seem as important as the characters, which in other books the story draws you in and you fall for the characters, but I just didn't feel anything for them in this book. I think the problem with audio books is the narrator plays an important part, as some voices just don't sound right. It pains me to give this review, especially as a fan of AG Riddle.
