About this listen
Mila and James are 12-year-old twins that are "exiled" for the summer to a small...sleepy...boring Ohio town with their Aunt Dharma and Uncle Jim. The only thing halfway cool is that the town is the home of the last tree some guy named Johnny Appleseed planted. The two become more intrigued when they learn from Lyle, the local museum curator, that Johnny Appleseed hid a treasure with this last tree.
Mila and James find out that the reason for their "exile" is that their parents are in financial trouble. Determined to help their parents (and get out of this sleepy little town), Mila and James set off to find the treasure. The twins soon learn that treasure hunting is riskier than they thought. They also find out that while Lyle may just look like a sweet old man, but he knows more than he's telling.
Appleseed's Treasure is a children's mystery story that is written for ages nine and above but can be a mystery story that is enjoyed by all ages.
