About this listen

You know what they say about wine, right? It gets better with age.

Christian: Assistant to the General of Fort Dale isn’t the easiest job, but I love it. Making General Winter’s life easier is worth every bit of hassle. He’s a good man, and I respect him…a lot. Of course, I’m toeing the line because, God, he’s hot, too. Sure, he’s a lot older than me, but I know how to behave and our relationship is strictly professional…until I stumble across an email, with a video! Then suddenly, everything is different.

David: I’ve seen everything in my time running Fort Dale. It comes with the territory, being the big man on top. After almost 10 years, I honestly believe the hardest thing in my life is being tempted by my extremely capable, good looking, and very young assistant. No, not going there, that’s a really bad idea! Things get worse when a ghost from my past shows up with blackmail on his mind, and suddenly…Christian is by my side. That’s when everything changes.

A relationship between them is taboo, forbidden. David is 20 years older and he’s Christian’s boss. Worse, he’s the General and it could ruin them both! Could they keep their feelings a secret? No one would find out…would they?

I love this book - a great story

"At my general’s command" is my first book by Romeo Alexander and I was absolutely thrilled.
Christian is General David Winter’s assistant and both have a good working relationship. When David is blackmailed, Christian is immediately there to help. The two are getting closer. But as long as they’re in the military, that love can’t really be. Can the two still make it?
You just have to love Christian and David. Their character development is great written, the story was exciting and both together are really hot. The story is really well written and great narrated. Michael Ferraiuolo gave Christian and David life and I loved listening to him. Unfortunately, the audio book was too short – I would have liked to hear more from David and Christian.
And I really need to get the first three volumes! There is an absolute recommendation from me!

Age gap and a workplace relationship.

Oh yes, this was so good! Both Christian and David (or, well, General Winters because it’s so sexy to call him with his title) are great characters. I loved their relationship so much, even before they started anything between the two of them, the ease with which they were with each other was a true pleasure to read! I loved how fiercely protective and loyal Christian is, and I loved reading about them adjusting to the new circumstances when they start their liaison.
I really enjoyed this book, and, not having read the previous ones in the series, I can attest that it can truly stand alone. But, I want to read the others anyway because the other couples look so good, also!
Michael Feraiuolo, as always, is a plus to any story, and is what tipped my 4.5 stars towards 5.

as great as the ebook

The story is always 4-5 stars, because if I wouldn't like the story as ebook, I wouldn't listen to the audiobook. I can't listen to an audiobook without knowing the book, that's not possible for me.

The performance from the narrator is also very important for me. I can't listen to a lot, because my English as a non-native-speaker isn't so perfect to follow a whole story over hours, when the narrator speaks too fast or too sloppy. Normally I have to SEE the person, who is talking to me in English. Michael Ferraiuolo is one of the top 5 narrators for me, I can listen without break and have no problems to follow.
I'm just not yet finish with the book, just over the half, but I listen enough to give a review.

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

To my ratings:

5* - very very good
it's like an A+

4* - very good and will be often re-listening
it's like an A

3* - it's more then a one-time-listening.
it's like a B

Enjoyed it.

A May to December romance set at Fort Dale. David is the general and Christian is his assistant.
Though Christian and David have shown up through the series, their story can be enjoyed as a standalone.
I liked the story overall, there was an element of suspense with the issue with David's ex. Christian steps in to help David and they find that they are attracted to each other. Now they have to deal with a workplace relationship (boss/subordinate), age gap and they're in the military. A good story.
I will admit I wanted to listen to this because - Michael Ferraiuolo! He made this so much more enjoyable! Loved his voice characterisations for all the characters! This is a great way to enjoy this story.

Amazing

I adored this piece! The build up was slow and beautiful, the characters were fun and unique. The plot was interesting and creative. All around this was a well written and well performed story.

Michael Ferraiuolo did a fantabulous job with this story. He always brings life to all the characters he writes. I love his work and always look for stuff he’s done over other narrators.

My favorite of the series.

I was really hoping that Christian would get his own book and I’m so glad he did! I didn’t read the blurb before I started listening to this so I really had no idea that it was about Christian and DAVID!! Oh my, what a delightful surprise.

I’m not usually hot for taboo or age-gap books with such a big gap but I absolutely loved this one. The performance by Michael Ferraiuolo was probably a big contributing factor. He really outdid himself with the different voices he used in this book.

This story has a little bit of everything in it, including some mystery and a big twist that I didn’t see coming at all. There’s a nice amount of sexy time and I really loved how everything between Christian and David didn’t come easy. They had some hard decisions to make in order for their relationship to work and I thought that made the story that much richer.

I’ve only got one book left to listen to in this series (My Kind of Christmas) and I really hope that Michael Ferraiuolo will be doing the audiobook for it.

A complimentary copy of this audiobook was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author and/or narrator.

The General and his assistant...

Christian has been the General assistant for a year now, admiring him from afar. David, has a thing for young guys and that gets him into trouble until Christian comes to the rescue. The General takes notice and can’t help but fall for the young gorgeous assistant. I like that Christian is no damsel in distress and that David can’t resist him. Michael Ferraiuolo is one of my favorite narrators and that leaves no doubt that I enjoy his book telling.

Fantastic addition

Another great addition to the Men of Fort Dale by Romeo Alexander and John Harris. David and Christian is a interesting match and very enjoyable to listen too. Michael Ferraiuolo did an amazing job as always with the narration. Hope the wait for the next story is not too long.

awesome continuation of a great series

I love this series, the general and his receptionist are so obviously right for each other. but it takes a "woops, I saw your sex face" to get them to see it.

Romeo and John are a fab team, and then they add Michael to make a really hawt threesome! I'm absolutely here for it!

so I'll just be in the corner, impatiently waiting for the next audio from this throuple.....

Loved it as much as the previous titles

I love this series, it's sweet, has some suspense and the exact right amount of heat.
I was very excited for general Winter to finally get his happy end and I was definetly not dissapointed!
Michael Ferraiuolos narration is on point, as always.
