Sceptical before hand and it was a slow start
That slow start became a fast paced, curiosity inducing adventure. So many questions about the who what where! Looking forward to book 2

A rehash of ST Voyager.
not a bad listen but once it becomes clear that this is a twist on the StarTreak Voyager story line it gets a bit predictable. Still worth a listen as its fast paced and action packed.

It's ok
I feel a bit mean when I leave an indifferent review because it is so difficult to write a book, create engaging scenarios and characters and put them all together, I think the author deserves a lot of credit just for that. However, as my headline says it's ok. Kind of predictable. I've listened to far worse though and it's a short book that feels like part one of what should be a multipart book.
I found every one of the main characters annoying. All orders are questioned despite none of them having any experience in space and they bumble along from one disaster to another, sniping at each other constantly (they'll end up inseparable I expect). They manage to escape by the skin of their teeth each time.(making it predictable) limping around the galaxy in a wrecked ship and that's probably why I'm a little disappointed - thers's no aliens, no great battles you'd tell your grankids about, just a series of disasters.
But I did finish it so I'll give the second book a go because there's the building blokcks of a story there and it has potential to improve.
I didn't buy this book, it's in the plus catalogue so I haven't given a not-so-great review because I'm annoyed I spent money. It's my honest opinion BUT I'm an old man so perhaps not the target audience, it feels like it might be for a younger generation.

Fast and Furios
This story moves so quickly it is hard to keep up, difficult to put down and over before you know it. An excellent read.

An easy to listen to soap opera
This is a very easy to listen to soap opera. There is nothing really original in the storyline: group of cadets co-opted onto a ship. Captain dies; cadets take over and set off on a journey through space.
Narration was good. However, it is a story that has been written before and nothing really stands out from the norm.

Aurora Cv 01 predictable
This was a free audio book and entertained me on my commute. Well narrated and a simple story line which was unchallenging and of a familiar formula. If you want to put your mind in neutral drown out the noise of a train journey this book is fine. I am not however encouraged to spend a credit on the next book in the series.

And so the Saga begins.
I chose this book on a recommendation of Steve Gibson on a show called Security Now on the TWiT podcast show. And am glad that I did. it was a great listen and a book that a hated to put down when real life intervened. I like the characters and look forward to their over coming of the challenges of their situation. A great read with excellent narration.

Very basic soap opera story
This is soap opera not hard sci-fi. There is lots of reference to ftl drive but no taking light travel time into space battles and general story. Definitely more Star Trek than Expeditionary Force. Probably targeted as Young Adult as all the older characters killed off pretty quickly and command goes to the most junior officer rank. No one left on the ship above ensign / lieutenant?? Main character is naive for someone having gone through officer training. Ok for a freebie but will not bother with the rest of the series.
Upside is the performance was pretty good and enhanced the audiobook.
