Summary

Early in the 20th century, Progressives quietly transformed America’s schools. One hundred years later, they've succeeded beyond their wildest hopes.

Behind a smokescreen of “preparing students for the new industrial economy,” early progressives had political control in mind. America’s original schools didn’t just make kids memorize facts or learn skills; they taught them to think freely and arrive at wisdom. They assigned the classics, inspired love of God and country, and raised future citizens that changed the world forever.

Today, after 16,000 hours of K-12 indoctrination, our kids come out of government schools hating America. They roll their eyes at religion and disdain our history. We spend more money on education than ever, but kids can barely read and write—let alone reason with discernment. Western culture is on the ropes. Kids are bored and aimless, flailing for purpose in a system that says racial and gender identity is everything.

Battle for the American Mind is the untold story of the Progressive plan to neutralize the basis of our Republic—by removing the one ingredient that had sustained Western Civilization for thousands of years. Pete Hegseth and David Goodwin explain why, no matter what political skirmishes conservatives win, progressives are winning the war—and control the “supply lines” of future citizens. Reversing this reality will require parents to radically reorient their children’s education; even most homeschooling and Christian schooling are infused with progressive assumptions. We need to recover a lost philosophy of education—grounded in virtue and excellence—that can arm future generations to fight for freedom. It’s called classical Christian education. Never heard of it? You’re not alone.

Battle for the American Mind is more than a book; it’s a field guide for remaking school in the United States. We’ve ceded our kids’ minds to the left for far too long—this book gives patriotic parents the ammunition to join an insurgency that gives America a fighting chance.

THE Must Read Of All Must Reads!!

While Americans were focused on economics of Capitalism vs Socialism/Communism. Leftist have been focused for 100 years on the high ground... Paideia.

While our politicians focused on economics, Leftists focused on our children. We are now 100 years behind.

Pete Hegseth and David Goodwin chronicle the who, what, where, when, why and how we got here, as well as how we liberate America from the clutches of social Marxists.

One of the well written books I've ever read.

Battle For The American Mind belongs along side,
The War On The West,
Irresistable Revolution,
Red Handed,
Debunking Howard Zinn,
Cynical Theories,
Debunking the 1619 Project,
A Conflict Of Visions

Much needed to rescue our society

I have been saying the problem with our society is “we” have taken morals, values, expectations, and true love of the child out of our society for quite some time and our youngest citizens do not know what they need to survive life.
Real love in not just hugs, kisses, and affirmation; but it is discipline that informs the child of the expectations of the family, the school, the society, and the church.
Many are lost and without purpose. We need to think about what our future and past are. Hard to see Americans solving anything on our present course

Do IT Over

I wish I could! My life would have been so much better. The worst thing is I didn't know how much better my children's lives would have been. Both my kids did well in public school, and college. But they would have done so much better, had I known what this book teaches. Don't accept like I did that your a victim of the public school system. Do something about it. I'm 72 years old now, my wife passed away. Our educations were the only regrets we had in life. I'm sorry I can't fix it now for my children. I know they will do the best for my grandkids they think they can. But they were raised in public school. I wish I could fix it now but I don't see it happening. And I will die now knowing that.

In a time surrounded by complexity, confusion, and chaos

For the last 22 years, I have served in the United States Army, and like Pete, I’ve spent a quarter of my military service in foreign countries fighting to defend the very Freedom that ‘most’ Americans take for granted. Those who have witnessed an alternative life to that of an American will understand where I’m coming from, while most may interpret what I’m saying negatively and will not actually understand what I mean. The combination of social media and conflicting historical viewpoints my 15 y/o daughter receives at school versus her home, ultimately led her to attempting suicide. My daughter has since been pulled out of public school and is doing significantly better. I’m sharing my story to hopefully be the tipping point with those who are undecided as to whether or not you should get and read this book. I highly recommend getting this book and listen to the book more than once, narrated by Pete. Thank you Pete and David for having the courage to write and publish Battle for the American Mind! God bless!! - Tim S

Eye opening. This book is well written and performed well! It sheds light on what our children in public school endure. The authors not only expose the problem but give the solution. Highly recommend this book!

Excellent insights into downfall of humanity

Great book with historical value. Explains well what has led to the wokism in this world and the ultimate demise of our free world unless we do something about it now.

I have read this but

I have read this book, and I have learned so much! That I just want to shout it to the 4 winds, and do something to help and be part of,although I’m close to seventy I’d love to help our children to thrive and know how precious and Wonderful they are in the eyes of our Lord.
