About this listen

Black Money’ - money that is made from illegal trade or criminal activity.

Ex-DCI Luke Sackville could not have predicted the challenges he would face when he joined Filchers, a business outsourcing company, as their Head of Ethics.

He and his team are catapulted into helping MI6 thwart the activities of an international terrorist organisation. Initial suspicions centre on money laundering, but when women are abducted and bodies start to turn up it becomes clear there is a lot more at stake.

The risks are high and there is danger at every turn as the tendrils of the organisation reach into the home lives of more than one of Luke’s team.

Black Money is the second in the Luke Sackville crime series. If you like a team you can root for then you’ll love this thriller. Perfect for fans of JD Kirk, LJ Ross, JM Dalgleish, David J Gatward and Alex Smith.

Original story. Hel my interest until the exciting climax.

This book was an improvement on the first in the series but perhaps that was because I was already familiar with the main characters so only had the peripheral ones. The narrator did well too -not quite Aubrey Parsons but I enjoyed the overall performance. Looking forward to the rest of the series.

Wowza

As Josh would say “Wowza”, what a great second book. Luke and team find themselves working with MI5 in this fast paced action packed book. The team are involved in different cases that all come together as the story progresses.
Luke and team are a great bunch of likeable characters and Josh is becoming a real star .
Looking forward to the next case for the Ethics team .

Superb.

Another superb story from the pen of S.J. Richards. This second book in the Luke Sackville series is just as good as the first, something that does not always happen after a strong debut novel but Steve has nailed it with this one. A great cast of characters and a nail biting storyline kept me on the edge of my seat throughout, finished it within a day as it's impossible to put down. Samuel James did a superb job of the narration with a multitude of different voices and emotions for the characters. It's the first time I've listened to him but hope it won't be the last. Highly Recommended.
I was kindly given a copy of the book by the narrator and leave this honest unbiased review.

Great listen.

I was surprised by the narrater change from the 1st book as I love listening to Aubrey Parsons. It took me a while to adjust but it was a really good book so I soon forgot. Moving on to book 3 now.

Definitely NOT Pedestrian!

I was given a free copy of this title in exchange for a review. The only thing that I’m unhappy about is the fact that I hadn’t read book 1 first!

This is a thoroughly engrossing and enjoyable story. Really interesting and hard to put down. A small, underestimated Ethics team are asked to investigate the accounts of a large company, looking for anomalies. Simple, right? Oh no, not by a long way…

Initially, you believe that this will be a straightforward police procedural tale and be pretty pedestrian, but it really isn’t! It’s a kind of white collar spy craft with personality. I thoroughly enjoyed this tale and now have to go back and buy book 1 before progressing to books 3 and 4!

Based in Bath and Oxford, this is an enjoyable Whodunnit, although not a straightforward one.

I enjoyed the narrator, even though I’m sure that he may not have nailed all of the dialects. It certainly didn’t distract me from following the story.

I highly recommend this story, but start from book 1!

Shane they changed narrator

Such a shame they changed narrator from book 1. Aubrey was so much better and made the book.

Great follow up

Really enjoyed these books and hope there’s not too long a wait until the next one. Very well read.

Very enjoyable but with a mild irritation

Very enjoyable story and excellently narrated. Characters are overall good and believable, but I have to say, while I think I was supposed to find his boyish enthusiasm endearing, I found Josh mildly irritating, sorry!

Very enjoyable

Thr story was very enjoyable and with enough twists and turns to satisfy. The narrator was good but he did mispronounce a few words and every so often that just takes you out of the performance
