About this listen
The recent Strigoi attack at St. Vladimir's Academy was the deadliest ever in the school’s history, claiming the lives of Moroi students, teachers, and guardians alike. Even worse, the Strigoi took some of their victims with them . . . including Dimitri.
He’d rather die than be one of them, and now Rose must abandon her best friend, Lissa—the one she has sworn to protect no matter what—and keep the promise Dimitri begged her to make long ago. But with everything at stake, how can she possibly destroy the person she loves most?

What is with Adrian's accent?
Love this series but honestly what is with Adrian's accent? I think the narrator is attempting a British accent but as an English person myself I can't say for sure as it's just so bad.
This makes no sense to me as the character is American - it even says in the book that he attended school on the East Coast of the USA. The bad accent just takes me right out of the book and ruins his character.

The story and narration are good but ...
I enjoyed the story and the narration of this book but the inclusion of music is distracting and irritating. I realise that it has probably been added to create drama and suspense but what it does is jolt you out of the story being told. It’s very annoying and I really wish it had not been included

Finally five stars overall to my fav book series!
Excellent all over. Shaffer does a great job giving each character's voice some personality and it's easy to keep track of who's talking at any moment.

Surprisingly my favourite
I was so eager to rush through this book to find out what happened to demitri and thought the book was gonna lack compared to the others, missing his and roses love affairs. Grew on me a lot and turned out to be my favourite in the series so far. I loved the characters and the setting. Only thing that bugged me was the strange music here and there. Hopefully 5 and 6 live up to it minus the music

Okay
Why do Adrian and Tatiana have weird accents? They’re both meant to have standard American accents

Great story, good narrator, terrible music
This narrator is definitely the best so far and the story is good but man the music is RIDICULOUS. Completely ruined the experience because not only did it jolt the flow of the story but it was so silly that it kept making me laugh in serious moments. However despite this I did like the book and the twists in the overall series and this book really helps move the plot along. Love the characters of Sydney and Adrian so I'm glad there is a spin off series for them.

Much better narrator
This narrator is much better, she does the accents and makes each character sound slightly different.

Loving the series but struggling with narration
Always loved this series and the build up of the story but struggling with narration on this one. The accents were pretty poor and a bit distracting. I understand that with a series that different people will narrate the next book but with it being something completely different to the previous books it was a bit off putting this time.

Narration& production ruined a great book
I never thought I’d say it, but I miss the narrator from books 2&3. Yes, it’s nice that Rose no longer sounds like quite such a whiny teenager but 1) what the heck has this narrator done to Adrian?! 2) the music is so distracting and weird - it’s awful. I also kind of preferred Dimitri being narrated without the Russian accent
