Summary

Can’t find her.

Can’t catch him.

Can’t trust anyone.

The first in a gripping new Sheffield-set crime series starring Detective Claudia Nunn.

Detective Claudia Nunn’s colleague DS Dominic Harrison has been leading the case against a dangerous serial killer, who hunts his victims using a dating app. But now his own wife has gone missing.

Then a large pool of blood is discovered in their garage. And Dominic is the prime suspect.

Is Dominic being framed by a serial killer or will Claudia expose an even uglier truth?

Can’t tell a soul how it ends.

Blood Stained is a dark, twisty and utterly compulsive page-turner that will be devoured by fans of Helen H. Durrant, Rachel Abbott, Angela Marsons and L.J. Ross.

Critic reviews

"An original take on the classic police procedural, I found it pacy, dark and compelling, and was hooked from the first page to the last." (Jane Isaac)

Implausible

Parts of the story were good but the ridiculous part was a police officer being told by her boss to question a close relative. This just wouldn't be allowed in real life for obvious reasons.
I felt that the story could be a lot shorter, but it was overlong due to too much repetition.
As the story is set in Sheffield, the narrators spoke in that dialect which was authentic.
overall, not a bad story but nothing special.

Was enjoyable

The story was sort of predictable. I guessed very early on the baddies. But saying that the story was enjoyable. A little long winded but it wasn’t too bad.

Long winded and repetitive.

This book could have been finished in five or six hours. It was repetitive in parts and seemed to go nowhere. Also not a fan of the narrators. Story kept you interested to a point and there was a twist in the tale. Overall a solid 3 from me. There are lots better.

Sheffield Steel.

A murder story with a twist. Enjoyable, for the most part, however some chapters became repetitive with the thoughts and actions of the main characters being repeated over and over again.
Without wishing to spoil the plot, the central tactic of the police interview would simply not have happened under any circumstances.
Having walked my dogs through one the woods mentioned, gave it a frisson of tension and realism.

☹️

Boring story line and narration - gave up after a few chapters. Shame as I really enjoyed another Rebecca Bradley book that I had downloaded

awful

so bad. so basic doesn't go anywhere especially when they're interviewing Kane. They're all so shocked over quite basic crimes for thus genre. if you want an excellent read definitely go for Tony Parsons or Chris Carter. the masters
