Summary

A Warhammer Crime novel.

An investigation into a missing member of a wealthy family leads Probator Agusto Zidarov into a web of lies and danger amidst the criminal cartels of Varangantua. As the net closes in, Zidarov falls further into darkness from which he may never return....

Listen to it because: take a step into the murky underworld of the 41st Millennium through the eyes of a lawman in a gargantuan city whose investigation leads him into darkness and danger.

The story: in the immense city of Varangantua, life is cheap, but mistakes are expensive. When Probator Agusto Zidarov of the city’s enforcers is charged with locating the missing scion of a wealthy family, he knows full well that the chances of finding him alive are slight. The people demanding answers, though, are powerful and ruthless, and he is soon immersed in a world of criminal cartels and corporate warfare where even an enforcer’s survival is far from guaranteed. As he follows the evidence deeper into the city’s dark underbelly, he discovers secrets that have been kept hidden by powerful hands. As the net closes in on both him and his quarry, he is forced to confront just what measures some people are willing to take in order to stay alive....

Great story once again from Chris Wraight

it would have been 5 stars all round. However the editing of the audio missed a few repeated lines. but I have no complaints about the story or the narrator.

Great Story

Awesome cops and bad guys chase and detective story which shows a different side of 40k from the normal space marine stories. Zidarov the main character is a great and complicated man that keeps the story interesting!

A light read

Pretty basic story about a copper being hard boiled and cool but still sort of a family man at heart.

It’s not a book that will leave you any better of for having read it but it’s a nice way to kill some time.
Great performance by the narrator.

A very strong first entry for Warhammer Crime

Enjoyable throughout, A nice look at the world of law and order in the grim dark future with a good balance to feel like an interesting crime story. But there also enough to feel like it belongs in the world of Warhammer 40K.

A gritty detective drama set in W40K universe

Bloodlines is a well narrated detective novel which follows officer Zidorov investigating the deep underworld of cartels and shady corporations. It's both good as a standalone novel and as a Warhammer 40k book, with a complex but well taught story, imperfect but likeable characters, and a unique setting of an Imperial city, which is both familiar and alien. What it really shines at is at translating the relatable fears, worries, and hopes of humans felt within a W40K setting.

Warhammer Crime begins

This novel is great, even for someone who isn't well versed in the lore of Warhammer 40,000. It's a hardboiled sci-fi noir, with enough twists to pull the reader deeper and deeper into the world of Alecto, and some hints at what lies beyond. A suggested listen for everyone interested in crime stories, sci-fi, and Warhammer 40,000.

A fantastic look at civilian life in 40k.

This story starts off a bit slow as it introduces you to the main character, it doesn't sound like your typical 40k book, there are no Marines, no Xenos, no battles which is exactly what I was looking for.
The backdrop is a typical imperial civilian world and adds a great insite into how most people live in the 40k universe. As the story unfolded I found myself wanting to know more and for the mystery to be solved.
I'm glad I listened to it and I would listen to a sequel.
