About this listen
From USA Today best-selling author L.A. Cotton comes an enemies-to-lovers sports romance. Angst...drama...friendship...and football. Will you survive senior year?
Miley Fuller has life all mapped out.
But when the first day of senior year rolls around and not everyone has forgotten her betrayal, Miley knows it’s going to take a lot more than "I’m sorry" to fix things.
Avery Chase has his sights set on football.
But the star quarterback is about to find himself working with the one girl he resents more than anything.
It starts with a shaky truce. Unite forces to repair the damage caused by Miley’s exposé on the team and help her finish her college application.
He’s everything she despises.
She’s everything he’s supposed to hate.
Only they both have too much riding on their senior year to quit.
But the problem with faking it is...sometimes it becomes real.

Short novella, prequel to Rixon High. Good and intriguing story, my only regret was it wasn't longer.

My Thoughts on Blurred Lines
This was the perfect little kick off to a new generation of Rixon Raiders. I loved the first generation so was more than happy to jump in and read about that group’s kids. Avery and Miley had a rough start that was well described even from an after the fact standpoint. Their present day POV showed them being thrown together and having to sort through feelings that had been sparked in their past. But I liked that it also showed what kind of people they really were. That being good, relatable types who I easily connected with. It made their HEA easy to root for. While this story stopped while they’re still in their senior year for this novella, I hope that we get to see more of them in future.
The narrators did a great job. I really liked their tones overall and the variations for different characters, but I also liked that they were believable as high school seniors.

Great start to the series!
Is it worth your reputation for a scholarship? Miley Fuller is finding out just how much of a toll her article about the football team has taken on her life. Now she has been assigned to shadow Avery, the team quarterback, to show just how dedicated and hard working the athletes are. Though there is chemistry between the couple, Avery cannot see past her deception and bad light she put on the team. He will not hear her side either, as she tries to get in her dream college. But as she is harassed by his teammates and her friendship with his sister, it's hard for him not to truly see her. Will he give into his feelings and conscience? Will Miley give him a chance? In true LA Cotton style, we are treated to the children of the Rixon Raiders series players. It's so fun to see how these characters have grown up and had kids of their own, still dealing with the same teenage angst and problems. It's easy to fall into the lives of these characters, and Avery with Miley are the perfect start to this series.
Lee Daniels and David Black tell us this story with wonderful performance. Miley is strong and resilient, and Daniels proves her worth with a voice that holds a hint of vulnerability, but incredible strength. Black creates Avery as the perfect young adult boy with his own mind and huge heart. I loved these two together and can't wait to continue the series.

Sooo good
Miley wants to be a journalist and is willing to do whatever it takes. But what if getting what you want comes with a high consequence.
Avery understands doing what it takes. He’s a big part of Rixon High football team. When Miley writes an article about the team he feels betrayed. Can these two ignore their chemistry or will they give into their feelings?
What happens when two people on different paths collide? Maybe wants and needs will become blurred.
I really enjoyed this audiobook. I’m a huge fan of the author and the narrators we’re great. High recommended.

Good Novella
Miley wasn’t the most popular person at the school as last semester she wrote a piece exposing the football team a showing they got preferential treatment. This semester she’s tasked with writing another piece showing the team in a better light and she’s to be shadowing their star quarter back Avery. Can she redeem herself after her scathing report and how will Avery react to having her shadow him.

Blurred Lines
This is a prequel for the Rixon High series. This is a short story that follows Avery the star QB. I really enjoyed getting a little back story before jumping into Lily’s story in book 1. Lee Daniels and David Black did a great job narrating this book.

Great to be Back in Rixon! Awesome Story & Listen🎧
This is an awesome enemies-to-lovers romance, L.A. Cotton masters young adult, new adult contemporary romance she also masters world building with this series spinning off of her amazing “Rixon Raiders” series with the children of the main characters from that series. This book and series stands on its own so you do not need to have read the Rixon Raiders series to enjoy this one, but I recommend that you do mainly because it is an awesome series. This Rixon High prequel is Avery Chase and Miley Fuller’s story, Avery is Rixon High’s star quarterback and of the of Hailee and Cameron. Avery is writes for the school newspaper and last year she went undercover for an investigative assignment covering the football team. Football is life for many in that school so she was an instant enemy when that article came out. But the coach wants her to come back this year to write another article to show how hard the athletes work and to shed a better light on the team and he wants her to shadow Avery, something he and the whole team is not happy about but they have to do what coach says. Avery and Miley have history, there is also chemistry between them but Avery hates her for what she did and Miley is sad about that but tries to explain to him she was doing what it took to get her a scholarship to the college of her choice. Can she make him see that, can he look past what she did and worry what others would think if he did or will he keep fighting the attraction. The author fit an impressive amount of story in this novella sized book and there is never a dull moment and plenty of drama, angst, heartfelt emotions and a slow burn, romance. It was great to see the characters of Rixon Raiders in adult roles and parenting. L.A. Cotton, thank you for another great story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Lee Daniels and David Black are the perfect cast to bring these characters and their story to life. They had a complete understanding of the characters they portrayed, gave each a voice that fit that character’s persona to a tee, sounding believable and just as I pictured the characters to sound. David Black nailed it as Avery and Lee Daniels did the same for Miley, both were amazing performing all the secondary roles. They set the perfect tone for the story, captures all of the characters emotions and projected them into their performance. These talented voice artists are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this fantastic listen.
