Summary

A dark discovery. Buried bones. A sweet confection of lost love and murder.

When a young boy running through the woods unearths a buried human bone, a cold case is soon re-opened. And Reverend Annabelle Dixon, with her insatiable appetite for mystery and crime, simply can’t leave it alone.

In the peaceful village of Upton St. Mary, word of the grisly discovery quickly spreads. The rest of the body has been found in the woods. The forensic team believes that it has been there for over a decade. But the question remains...whose bones were buried there all those years ago?

You’ll love this cozy mystery because it’s exciting and charming, plus there are plenty of laughs!

Body in the Woods is the third in a furiously fast-paced, funny new series featuring a young female vicar whose passion and dedication to her parish are matched only by her weakness for cake.

If you go down to the woods

If you go down to the woods today you are sure to find a good mystery. I am really enjoying this light hearted cosy mystery series, were the only complicated thing is trying to decide which cup of tea to sit back and enjoy with it. The characters are likeable and being set in a small English village you really get the feeling that they are part of a community. The mystery kept me guessing who was responsible especially with all the different opinions about the dead woman. The story also has a couple of side mysteries for you to solve and while one is pretty oblivious, the second was a surprise but both added some more mystery and humour to an already delightful story. It's the type of series that you can picture being turned into a hallmark tv programme. Look forward to the next mystery, which we get a taste for at the end of this book.
When a young boy running home from school stumbles over skeletal remains, Reverend Annabelle finds herself investigating very cold case. The bones are quickly identified, with only one woman having disappeared from the small village but finding her killer isn't so easy. Can Annabelle help the grumpy detective, who is hiding his own secrets, find the killer?
I liked the narrator. She helps to bring the characters to life and makes them easy to imagine.
