About this listen
Rosarita was a sleepy little Texas border town until Lucas Brennan gunned down saloon owner Race Jago one morning. Because he refuses to give a motive or defend himself, the judge has no choice but to find him guilty of murder.
While Brennan awaits execution, Kip Wakefield tries to discover a motive for the killing and finally convinces the prisoner to tell why he shot Jago in cold blood. In the last hours before his sentence is carried out, Brennan reluctantly tells the young deputy his story.
His tale is that of a man's love for his wife, a father's love for his son, and a hatred destroying two lives and affecting others. It is also the story of a man believing that once he's had his vengeance, there is nothing left for him but to die, only discovering almost too late there is always something to live for.

Brennan's Vengeance
This is a very good historical Western. 2 men leave home after rowing with family over slavery and build a different life. Well written and well defined characters. Very good narration as always from Steve Connor makes this a very good listen.

What a wonderful Western!
When Michael Brennan and his best friend Carl Stanton decide not to take part in slavery or any war defending it, they headed to Western Nebraska. It is here where Michael analysis son Luke Brennan was born in Waiehu raised his half Native American son, Chance. It will also be the place where his need for vengeance begins, but not where it will end. I don’t want to give anything away, because this book was so good and as I knew next to nothing about the story I think it’s only fair I get that same gift to the next reader. Just know this is a great western about the loss of love and a vengeance A man feel so deep he will not stop until justice is dealt out. I highly recommend this book if you love historical westerns and great storytelling you’ll love this book. I thought the narrator did an awesome job I loved him and have listened to him on other books I will probably listen to him in the future. This book deserves five stars if not more.
