About this listen

Simon Morden is an award-winning novelist and scientist with degrees in Geology and Planetary Geophysics. In Bright Morning Star he delivers perhaps his finest work to date.

Sent to Earth to explore, survey, collect samples and report back to its makers, an alien probe arrives in the middle of a warzone. Witnessing both the best and worst of humanity, the AI probe faces situations that go far beyond the parameters of its programming and is forced to improvise, making decisions that have repercussions for the future of our entire world.

Thought provoking

This book provided me with a very interesting perspective. Although I’m not the usual SciFi fan, I thoroughly enjoyed it - even found it hard to put it down.

Very thought provoking towards benefiting the Earth by preventing wars and looking after it. I feel very inspired after reading this!

Engaging, fun and thoughtful

One of the best stories I have listened to recently. It is a really engaging story, very original and thought provoking, addresses big issues, but at the same time being a fun, exciting listen, and is quite humorous in places. I love the outside perspective on us humans and we so need the main character in the world right now!

A Good alternative viewpoint on first contact!

I listened to this book in one sitting, and I loved the alternate viewpoint narration of a first contact story.
If Sci-fi is your thing, then give it a go!

Brilliant

Cleverly written in a naive first person voice to convey complex ideas in a very effective way.
Interesting ideas and insightful view of humanity.
Beautiful performance by narrator,
