Summary
Part of a small demon lair in Las Vegas, tattooist Harper Wallis lives a pretty simple life. That changes overnight when she discovers that her psychic mate, or 'anchor', is a guy who's rumoured to be the most powerful demon in existence.
Compelling, full of secrets and armed with raw sexuality, Knox Thorne is determined to claim her as his anchor, creating a psychic bond that will prevent their inner demons from ever turning rogue. The billionaire also wants Harper in his bed. She's not so sure she wants either of those things. No one seems to know what breed of demon Knox is, only that he's more dangerous than anything she's ever before encountered. But he refuses to walk away. And when an unknown danger starts closing in on Harper, it seems that Knox is the only one who can keep her safe.
As Prime of his Las Vegas lair and a successful businessman, Knox Thorne is used to being in control. He's also used to people fearing and obeying him. Harper does neither, which unexpectedly amuses him. Unpredictable, elusive and complex, she draws Knox and his inner demon like nothing ever has.
Knox is used to getting what he wants, and he wants Harper. He'll have her, and he'll keep her safe from the threat that looms over her. Because Knox protects what's his. He won't allow anyone to take her from him. Even if it will mean letting the demon inside him rise and wreak the havoc it was created to make.

I'm probably not the target audience bur here goes
As a rule I like the paranormal books for their action packed stories and strong characters. As a bloke I am not really into chick lit and romance books which this most definitely is.
I listened to this because I accidentally stumbled on the Phoenix pack series of books by the same author and thoroughly enjoyed them.
This book is sort of a cross between Feral Sins by Suzanne Wright and the Imp Series by Debra Dunbar -though I didn't enjoy it quite as much as either.
Thats not to say its a bad book and I will almost certainly listen to Blaze in a month or so.
Has all the hallmarks of a Suzanne Wright book - Feisty female lead character, Dark brooding possessive male, plenty of sex and of course life threatening danger for our heroine. Oh and did I mention some disfunctional relatives. The snappy humour we expect from our heroines is all there
Bit too much of the sex and not enough plot in this one for me though and the male Knox Thorne (even the name is a giveaway) is really a bit too much of a stereotype for me. Dark brooding dominant dangerous etc
Harper is a better character much more interesting and I really liked her and actually cared what happened to her.
Cat Douchette does a great job as narrator and really brings the book to life - very similar to Jill Redfields performances in the Phoenix pack books (and much better than Angela Rysk in the Imp series)
I cant give the story 5 stars though - it really is far too predictable and the sex gets a bit boring after a while, there is a bit too much of it. The underlying plot is quite good though and definitely gets a bit hard to put down in places. Almost all the paranormals in this book are Demons though there are some nice twists on the different types Imps feature prominently but our 2 leads are a bit more interesting and have useful powers
If you like other Suzanne Wright books its definitely worth a credit but I don't think its as good as Feral Sins as a starter of a series

Awful
I managed to listen to about thirty minutes of this audiobook before requesting a refund. The narrators voice got on every nerve in my body. Her characters voices very abysmal to say the least. This is the first audiobook I have ever returned and I've listened to some bad narrators so that tells you just how bad this one was. Awful.

Great books but narrator is awful
I love Suzanne Wrights work - the perfect combination of steamy and suspenseful - and this series is just as promising as her others. The narrator on the other hand - just awful. Her voice for every character is either high-pitched and whiney or they sound like they've taken a few too many bong hits. I only listen to them when driving the long commute to work but then have to switch to reading as I find myself genuinely irritated by the end of it!

Not a great book, at all. Rather read her other series.
The narrator has a pleasant voice and I do not rule out other books by her but the production and her choice of voices was horrid. Seriously horrid. The female lead had a whiny annoying voice, and half of the book is her talking. Main characters need to sound ok and this was Fran territory without the charm and humour.
It has taken months or possibly over a year to finish listening to this book and I normally finish books by this author in less than a week. This week I made a concentrated effort to finish the book, in the hope the other books on the series are good enough to reward my perseverance and the pain I am suffering.
The story was also weak, world was interesting but much of it was the female lead astonishing the male lead as she was not a total tool. Not a pit this author has been near before, hopefully she got it out of her system.
This is one of about seven authors I first check when looking for a new book, her books are not all equally good but still most are really good. This one was simply bad.

Very entertaining!
Good story that doesn’t require too much concentration. And funny even when it’s not trying to be.

I've love this book
I've fallen for Knox he is the right mix of bad boy, power and sex. I've just finished this book and the stanchions one is already to play. It's also nice to see a strong female that isn't a damsel in distress and it's so funny how she can annoy everyone around her if she wanted to. I hope there will be many many books about Knox and Harper.

The Best Burn
Where does Burn rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Its one of my favourites now, I love the whole book Harper is quiet a character and its well played I liked Knoxs too he seems like a real good guy but he has his own priorites, it will be interesting to see how they play out
What was one of the most memorable moments of Burn?
I have got to say Harpers language a bit too much pointless cursing, I also liked the girls that Harper is with from her Lair, Devon Chloe and Rainney. These girls have some funny happenings in the book
Have you listened to any of Cat Doucette’s other performances? How does this one compare?
to begin with I didn't really think much of cat Doucette's performance but I soon found I was mis-judging her she read the characters very well
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I did listen to this in one sitting :) I have actually listened to it several times it is that good, a bit explicit but I loved the Feral sins series that Suzanne wrote so it wasn't unexpected
Any additional comments?
Suzanne Wright is one of my favourite writers and I have many of her books Audio ones if she keeps writing I'll certainley keep listening. Well Written

Good story but necessarily my type
the idea for the story was really goos and inventive - loved this part !
BUT there was a HUGE lot of sexual content which detracts from the story and makes it into a supernatural version of 50 shades of grey..

Horrible narrator
This audiobook was totally butchered by the narrator. The voices were creapy, the heroine sounded like a petulant, annoying child and the hero's voice sounded like he was crazy.
Absolutely horrible narration.
