About this listen
A prince of industry, an imprisoned gladiator, fistfights instead of ballrooms - Cinderella was never this hot.
A master in the arena but a slave when combat is over, Jabez is a cage fighter raised on the streets. When two friends bet on a match, wealthy socialite Andreas wins time with the champion. He feels an instant sizzling connection with the battered warrior and buys out the man's contract, offering Jabez a chance for a better life.
Uneasy in sudden luxury, Jabez resists attraction to his handsome employer. The two men's struggle against desire explodes in passionate fighting, but eventually they surrender to lust, which slowly evolves into something more. When Andreas discovers his family's corporation hides dark, dangerous secrets, he faces a fight for his life. Meanwhile, Jabez learns what it means to care for someone and puts his body and soul on the line to rescue the man he's grown to love.

Different and exciting
Love takes time to bloom just like flowers, this is very different and has plenty of excitement from beginners to end, enjoy I know I did.

Shocked
A bit of a shock to the system on first hearing the opening scenes. Full-on MM action which I was not expecting but having listened to one of Bonnie's previous books I pressed on. Somewhere I thought there was a story in it. I'm glad I did.
The Narration by Noah Michael Levine brought to life the characters.
The futuristic setting shows the great divide between the rich and the poor although not much was said about it except the flying cars, this is mostly left to your imagination,
Apart from the MM action, it's basically a story about two guys who save each other a feel-good factor with a HEA ending. As to the ending, it fitted both characters well, except for the dog and its name.
Love the housekeeper. I also agree that the cover of the book doesn't sit well with the character, he does look like an old man with no scars. Could do with changing that.

Good book
I really enjoyed this book. I liked both the narration and the story. I found it interesting that the author named the fight character Jabez. The name is mentioned in the Bible as meaning to cause pain or to be in pain. The book had some twists that kept my interest. The narrator did well in that I always knew who was speaking.

Very amateurish
I finished it. But why? Next week, I only remember my annoyances.
The 'science fiction' part is not developed. This is a contemporary story with a few times the mention of interplanetary travel thrown in. Call a car a landglider and voila, world building finished. The characters are shallow and have no development. All problems are solved easily and quickly, if they do not disappear by themselves. The plot goes straight from a to b and the few times I thought I knew where it was going I was wrong: it did not go anywhere. Just from a to b.
