Summary
A BBC Radio 4 full-cast dramatisation starring John Moffatt as Hercule Poirot with Stephanie Cole and Donald Sinden.
Hercule Poirot, along with three other luminaries from the world of crime detection, is invited to dinner by the renowned London socialite Dr Shaitana. Also on the guest list are four members of what Shaitana calls his Black Museum - a collection of murderers who have each succeeded in 'getting away with it'.
After midnight, when the guests prepare to leave, they make a terrible discovery. Their host is dead in his armchair, stabbed in the chest. The four sleuths are thus faced with one murder and a quartet of likely suspects. Working both together and independently, they investigate the past of the Black Museum's finest in order to determine the most likely killer.
Poirot finds that many hindrances and distractions are thrown in his way, as he attempts to read the meaning of the cards which each suspect has placed on the table.

Another fantastic rendition from John Moffat.
Casting is tremendous.
Actors characterisations are true to Christie's fabulous novel.
I thoroughly recommend.

Super dramatisation
Fabulous dramatisation as always and great story and plot. I love the way we are guessing until the end. Will definitely be listening to more.

First Class Christie Mystery
Another perfect Murder mystery to add to ones collection. First rate Christie, this will be a pleasure to listen to any time and many times over.
I have all of the Agatha Christie full cast plays which are gems. Professional casts and production teams glowingly produce excellent Christie dramas where you are taken into the world of upperclass mid thirties drawing rooms filled with various wonderful characters brought to exuberant life as they sip cocktails, tea and eat cucumber sandwiches served to them by gallant footmen. All have something to hide and all are put through their paces by Monsieur Poirot who leads the circus to full conclusion once he has put each character through their paces, terrorising each and everyone of them in his sweet charming way until at last, the true antagonist is brought forth and humiliated to justice.

Unusual who dunnit !
I have always held back from purchasing murder stories of Poirot played by John Moffat, as I just can’t warm to his interpretation of the great detective. I suppose I am really attached to the very convincing David Suchet who has played the part so brilliantly for many years. It is a pity that the BBC could not find a more charismatic and convincing actor as I note that he has played this part in all the audible versions which is a shame. Other than this, the rest of the cast were brilliant. Sorry John Moffat, I’m sure you’re great playing other characters, but for me, as Hercule Poirot, you just don’t ring my bell.
