About this listen
I've always wanted to be a musician. Not necessarily famous, but the way I connected to music, I dreamed of people feeling that way about mine.
Starting a band with my three best friends was a no brainer. No, it wasn't instant success, but it didn't take long for us to get noticed. There's not many all-female metal bands, and we understood that helped propel us into the industry.
We wanted to prove we were more than eye candy and were an awesome band. Being women and wanting respect, we lived like rock stars, doing what our male counterparts did. Sex, drugs, and rock and roll.
It was an instant yes when we were offered to play on the Festival of Desolation tour. One of our must attend summer concerts as fans.
Secondary to the huge honor, I'd knew he'd be on the tour.
Alex Austin.
My icon.
His lyrics, his voice, his stage presence.
He was the entire package.
It didn't hurt that he was absolutely, devastatingly, drop dead gorgeous.
But it's more than that. I felt so connected to this person. Not the performer. But the man. I just knew he was meant to be in my life. That he could teach me so many things and we could be unstoppable creatively.
Of course this meant I pictured a life with him and in that, knew I couldn't mess up the opportunity when we met.
I told myself that I wouldn't throw myself at him and have him see me in one way...a summer fling.
I knew it wouldn't be easy, but I couldn't blow it. Even if my every urge had me wanting to blow him.
I, Sidney Covington, was going to become the musician I dreamed of, and bag the man of my dreams, all in the summer of 2006.

Chaotic Love Rocks! Terrific Story & Narration🎧
I am a huge fan of rockstar romance novels and Amelia Oliver, a new-to-me-author, delivers one that not only captivated my attention the entire book, but tugged at my heartstrings, too. The story is original and contains interesting storylines and characters you can connect with. Sydney Covington is the front of an up-and-coming all female metal rock band Ruthless Promises. The band is having their first single released, and the label has them joining an existing tour and they are all ecstatic. Sidney is even more excited because Chaos Theory is also touring and she has had a crush on the lead and front man, Alex F’ing Austen. She got to meet him the first night, and they hit it off, but she was in it for the long run and wanted to take it slow. Alex never chased women, they chased him, he never took his time with them either, but there was something different about Sydney, an attraction like he never experienced, so he agreed to taking it slow. I loved the chemistry between Alex and Sydney, and it was great watching them get to know each other, as well as Sydney navigate the new experience of touring and performing on stage. There was drama with one of her bandmates, Mia, who was on the outs with the rest of the band and heading down the wrong path, a destructive one. The complexity of the characters and their growth is fantastic, and so are all the layers of the story, the writing, plot and world building, too. I enjoyed Sidney and Alex’s journey and I more about them is in the works, and their bandmates too. Amelia Oliver, thank you for this entertaining and sizzling romance story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧 Shiloh James and Lance West are rock stars in their own right and they rocked it bringing these characters and story to life, rocked it out of the park, concert hall, and stadium. They did an amazing job portraying the characters, giving each a voice that was fitting and believable. Ms. James nailed it as Sidney, grasping every aspect of her personality, from her insecurities to her caring side to the confident and banging rockstar that she was. West’s just as fabulous in Alex’ role, also grasping all sides of his personality, super self-assured and not afraid to show his softer side. Both were fantastic performing the roles off all the secondary and support characters too. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions, as well as their passion, and had you feeling all of it. These two entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to and their performance elevated this story to another level. Thank you for another fabulous listen.
