Ruined by the music

Unnecessary dramatic music at the end of random chapters ruined the flow of the storytelling.

stop the music

I hate how the producers have ruined the end of many chapters by sticking music over the readers voice. let me listen to the great story and naration and stop spoling it with music I don't want to hear!

I'm getting a bit impatient.....

with Harry Bosch. This book is no less good than the others, very listenable. Good story, good reading, and one is sure the details are credible.

But I'm starting to find Bosch slightly annoying. All right, he's a man with a mission. But honestly, would he perform his mission any less effectively if he were a little less inconsiderate to his love interest and rude to his colleagues? Could he sometimes not consider the possibility that he might be mistaken? Might he not get better results if he got a bit of a life?

IThank you for introducing me ro Art Pepper!

Where does City of Bones rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

mid

What other book might you compare City of Bones to, and why?

Not the best Harry Bosch, mainly due to naration.

Have you listened to any of Peter Jay Fernandez’s other performances? How does this one compare?

no

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No

Any additional comments?

Art Pepper was a saxophonist who had passed me by. My thanks.

Great book

+Great Book. - Not as suspenseful at the end. Some unnecessary sound effects throughout.

Good story with random sound effects

Another really enjoyable Bosch case despite the very random placement of Law and Order style "Dun Dun" sound effects and music.

Bosch is always good; this isn’t his peak

More thoughtful, repeated metaphors growing in depth; but the plot is less gripping than some, with too many false summits along the way that don’t actually drive the plot, with an anti-climactic ending.

Compelling and engaging

This is another Bosch story which keeps the reader engaged and intrigued. The modern LA noir genre is downbeat, procedural and offers only shades of grey, yet this is not a depressing read. It takes you on a journey of dogged, single minded detection which brings you to a just conclusion.
