Summary

Simon Lewis is having some trouble adjusting to his new life as a vampire, especially now that he hardly sees his best friend Clary, who is caught up in training to be a Shadowhunter - and spending time with her new boyfriend, Jace. Simon decides he needs a break and heads out of the city - only to discover that sinister events are following him. Realising that the war they thought they’d won might not yet be over, Simon has to call on his Shadowhunter friends to save the day - if they can put their own splintering relationships on hold long enough to rise to the challenge….

Awful

I love the books and the previous narrators haven't been so bad. But this is awful and really spoiled it for me. The voice of Simon is British and not a Brooklyn accent which doesn't make sense, I can just about put up with that but Clarys voice is the worst! Compared to the other narrated versions this Molly girl sounds so whiney and feeble. Does not match the character at all. I can't listen to anymore of this. Just purchased book No 5 to listen to so let's hope it's better.

Please can we have one set of narrators per series and not change them each book. It's very annoying and doesn't make the books flow.

Shame about the change of narrators.

I was disappointed to find the narrators had changed. The male narrator was ok but the female voice I found to be very difficult to listen to - almost monotone and slow in places therefore loosing my interest in the story.

Wonderful

I love The Mortal Instruments and for the most part because of the complex relationships between the main characters. This is the 4th book in the saga and kind of starts of the second part of the story and maybe I wondered if it would captivate me as much as the first 3 books did.

Well I can say it does and I thoroughly enjoyed it, as with the other books I love Cassie's storyline and hope with all my heart if and when the film does come out it will do it justice, though as with most films of the book, they don't.

If you haven't read any of the Mortal Instruments get hold of City of Bones now, you won't regret it. It has it all, Demons and Angels, Vampires and Werewolves, Love and Romance. If you have read the first 3 books, City of Fallen Angels will leave you crying out for the as yet incomplete 5th book, City of Lost Souls.

Get into the Mortal Instruments now!

Amazing Except the Female Voice Actor

Heavens I love these books and the male voice is beautiful and gravelly but the female ruined it for me. She was too high pitched and couldn't pronounce basic plot words such as Stele and Idris. It completely put me off listening for 6 months.

Best of the series

Would you listen to City of Fallen Angels again? Why?

The story line continued with what happens in the love lives of all the characters. The story was so exciting. I felt like I was watching a film A great end to the series

What other book might you compare City of Fallen Angels to, and why?

I have not read a series this exciting, where I felt I had to read the next book.

What does Ed Westwick and Molly C. Quinn bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

Did not like the narration at all. I had got used to the narrator of the previous 3 books. Why did you change? And why 2. Both were poor readers. I nearly bought the book to read myself.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. I could not leave it down. The pace of the story increased in the last few chapters. Great read

Any additional comments?

As I listened to the previous 3 books I knew the characters and felt comfortable with the story line. This book was so poorly read, I only stuck with it so I could discover the ending. These books were well written. I was completely drawn into the world of Shadowhunters, Downworlders and Demons. A great ending!

struggling to listen

Have been listening to the books back to back and the narrators jarred badly to the point that it is so distracting from the story and the characters that we've got to know over the last three books. Male narration better but Simon is very inconsistent and female voice is throughly off putting. Trying to get through to the end of the book as really like the story and invested in the characters. Hope book 5 has improved !!

Great story

Loved the story, though the performances of the readers let it down. The female in particular sounded like she would rather be anywhere else other than in the studio. Shame.

Fun story, her performance was not the best

Her performance put me off and I groaned every time she started a chapter. Story great.

Fell asleep

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Should have kept the narrator from books 1-3, these narrators ruined the story for us, couldn't listen to the story, switched it off after the first few chapters. Feel cheated wish we could have had our money back. Very poor readers, my 10 year old son could have read the story and done better voices.

What did you like best about this story?

The story sounded good to start but just couldn't listen to anymore because of the narrators.

Who might you have cast as narrator instead of Ed Westwick and Molly C. Quinn ?

The narrator from 1-3 or the narrator who read the Twilight saga books.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from City of Fallen Angels?

Don't know fell asleep.

Any additional comments?

Would like our credit back to get another book, not read by these narrators. Waste of a credit.
