Critic reviews

“This book had me on an emotional roller coaster - one minute I'd be happy and excited, the next I'd be crying because of the sad scenes (sad, but beautiful). It didn't take me long to finish!” (The Guardian Online)

An Emotional Rollercoaster one might say.

I think this is what critics call an "emotional rollercoaster". The story is fast paced and pitted with cliffhangers. The reader is carried through the whole spectrum of emotion: joy, loss, triumph, disappointment, victory, love, hate, and pretty well all the others. This is I think, my favourite of Cassandra Clare's Shadowhunter books. It not only concludes The Infernal Devices satisfactorily, but also illuminates and explains many references in the Mortal Instruments,. filling out the backstory of characters like Brother Zachariah and Magnus Bane, and the origin of some of the tools of the Shadowhunters such as the Portal. Having read this I'm going to have to reread The Mortal. Instruments.

The performance by Daniel Sharman was excellent.

A well written trilogy

A gripping, imaginative, well written fantasy fiction trilogy. I loved the narrator depiction of the characters

Amazing performance (best in the series in my opinion) and the story was just perfect.

loved the whole series

This series is so brilliant and it's better, in my opinion, than the mortal instruments series (the last hours so far is also amazing). the voice actor was very good and though they have been good throughout (different ones for each) that kind of messed with the continuity, for example Will didn't have a Welsh accent in the first or second book! but still would recommend!!

Fantastic Narrator

The best narrator I’ve ever listened to, so easy to distinguish between all the characters and such a great range of accents also.

What an amazing audiobook!

Wonderful, enthralling story with absolutely amazing voice acting by Daniel Sharman!
I need more books narrated by that man. And I’ll definitely read more of the Shadowhunter series.

Emotional damage!

No matter how many times I re read or listen again to this trilogy my heart audibly breaks during this epilogue. Beautiful, and I loved the Welsh accent, just how I imagined Will to sound like. My favourite set of shadowhunter books.
