Workshop in Storytelling
Easy read, practical and helpful. Helped me immensely so far in my very first narrative sermon. A wonder step-by-step primer for the beginner storyteller. A great reminder for veteran story tellers of all the things we need to pay attention to so our stories are the best they can be. Having just finished reading this book, my first by this author, I feel delighted at finding so many things that are important and new to me (such as shorter study sessions, more active learning, interleaving subjects).

Wish I knew of this book many years ago
This book was surprisingly helpful, with great scenarios and exercises to work through. I was expecting a somewhat cynical and unethical book; I finished feeling much more confident about working through the occasional barb wire of projects with different egos and motivations. Once I opened this book, I couldn't put it down. I never truly found a resting spot I didn't wanna come back to. I wish I could have discovered this book years ago prior to becoming a federal employee.

Great book for communication.
This is one of the most concise, readable books on instructional design that I've ever read. I have a Masters in Education, I have dozens of books on learning design and development, and have been developing online learning for many years, but this book very effectively collects all the information you need to design learning experiences of all kinds I listen the book from beginning to end. Now I just need to do what learning designers try to do for learners and put into practice what I’ve learned. There are great takeaways throughout the book. It’s not rocket science so not everything is new and complex.

Perfect book for communication.
Absolutely phenomenal book! I love the concept and it fundamentally transformed the way I look at team communication! I give a copy to every member of my team and hand them out when someone is looking for professional development. I'm also excited to go back and check out some of the authors' others works starting with "5 Gears: How to Be Present and Productive When There Is Never Enough Time". This is a lot more than just a leadership book. It will help you understand yourself and why you have the tendencies you have.

Practical, Comprehensive, Thorough
If I could only have one book on public speaking, this would be it. Comprehensive, easy to read, great information. I plan to use it as my business plan for establishing my speaking career. This book covers a wide range of current practical learning techniques and theories. Some of what’s covered I’ve run across from other resources. This is concise and to the point.

Respectfully Written
Good book. Very respectfully written. Broke down situations and repeated each scenario so you really wrap your mind around each phase of the discussion. I loved how the author pointed out the goal if changing behavior, not personality and differentiating between the two. She has a very clear depiction of several scenarios. I found many of them to be helpful and it helped me to realize some things I can change about myself.

Just valuable information
I am a speech coach at my local high school. This book is short enough for attention span of students. It emphasizes the key elements in storytelling in simple, straightforward language and is illustrated with solid examples. We all have a message - the difficulty is getting it across to the people we can help. This book shows how to get that message across and make it stick. A short guide that is useful for any presentation from how to start the talk and get immediate attention to how to get your points across. Not a lot o detail but it overs all the basics.

very special book.
This book is a companion to earlier marvelous book Helping. After decades as a student and practitioner of process consultation, facilitation and being a helping professional (as well as organizational culture) shares one of his reflections on his work in the that book. I admire people who with easy-going attitude can accomplish the most difficult tasks.
I have secretly envied their ability and only sighed for me being born with such a set of genes.
This book has opened my eyes for the very nature of this ability and from where to start. I love this book i love so much.

Ultimate book.
I listen this book in supplement with Accelerated Learning by Leonard Bell and found this book much more enjoyable in comparison. It goes over how not to learn, how to be better in acquisition of knowledge, obstacles, and ways to test how deep our knowledge really runs listen many books claiming to provide useful info on learning, attention etc. Actually bought this to kill time while recovering from minor surgery. It turned out to provide some of the most useful and actionable advise I have encountered in this area. I learn a lot frm the techniques given in this book. They are easy to follow and can be applied almost immediately. T
